Good luck to y'all here with the lottery. I can't imagine the number of entries for it with the Hamilton show being over 30K

Just curious, is anyone here planning to record the CBC radio/Sirius XM broadcast? I'm sure we'd all love to have a high quality version of this historical gig show up in the Hipbase bootleg archive. I'd do it myself, but unfortunately my computer is an obsolete piece of crap, and I lack the required technology.

I'm sure it will be available in HD format from several sources the day after.direwolf74 wrote:Just curious, is anyone here planning to record the CBC radio/Sirius XM broadcast? OMFG, I just teared up reading the last sentence of this blurb on the Hip's website:
WILL-CALL / TICKET PICK UP:
On the evening of the concert, lines at entry points and the box office are expected to be long. The Rogers K-Rock Centre Ticketmaster Box Office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm. On Friday, August 19th, the Box Office will remain open until 8:00pm. Ticket holders are strongly encouraged to pick up their tickets in advance. The Rogers K-Rock Centre Box Office is located on The Tragically Hip Way at Gate 4.

Lottery is now on Friday and you have to pick them up on Friday as well, which absolutely sucks in the unlikely event I win, since I have to drive from ottawa and I have a ticket to see Sloan play 'one chord to another' that night. Damnit.

Instead of making the sensible/economical choice to go to the Ottawa, he not only jumps any chance to join the national spotlight/broadcast but ANNOUNCED that hes going ahead of time. Media laps it up as always. As one of the biggest "celebrities" in our country, what do you think the odds of him not creating a distraction are? Especially with his biggest fans the CBC covering the show.emperor penguin wrote:I would hope, and assume, in a box so he doesn't create a big distraction.carebread wrote:Trudeau's gonna be there. Over/under on his face 36 times on the broadcast? Over/under 1000 selfies taken in Kingston?
Silver lining on this is the hilarious coincidence that my "no ticket nightmare" comes to life on the same day that I GOT A TICKET TO THE SHOW!

I'm afraid it will drag out the time to get through security big time. Why did this have to be announced?Scotty12 wrote:Instead of making the sensible/economical choice to go to the Ottawa, he not only jumps any chance to join the national spotlight/broadcast but ANNOUNCED that hes going ahead of time.
