Hi all,
Yes, that's the wife and I. We were right in front of Mark at the Syracuse show... Hehehe... My wife gave Mark a big hug because he taped the Vegas show from 2002 that Gord dedicated Grace, Too to us (we met the guys the night before in the casino).
I've been thinking of making a shirt that says www.thehundredthmeridian.com to wear to shows so I could meet some people from Hipbase and people who use the FTP site.
I saw a Hipbase shirt in DC but I was in my bird's eye view - which was great for the short wife and couldn't get over to say hi.
Hehehe... I didn't 'prune' the pics very well. The wife took a few pics of the Metro subway tunnel. I thought is was pretty cool - kind of looks like the scene in a 70's Sc-Fi movie.
The 9:30 was a great place for a show. Great crowd of fans as well.
Now I can't wait for Clifton Park - and we are skipping Thanksgiving and heading up to the ACC for the Toronto show.
Talk to you later,
Jerremy

Kari, it was fun hanging out with you and Breanne for a bit before and after the show. You were a trooper hanging out for 3 hours to meet everyone from the band. I forgot you were pregnant. You must have been exhausted. I still can't believe you walked home to the hotel from that neighborhood.kari wrote: It was fabulous to meet and hang out with some great fellow hipbasers – so nice to meet Jamie, Shannon, Natalie, Hugh, Mike and Brian. (P.S. – Brian, please give a message to your wife for me…she and I were talking endlessly about pregnancy, and I was bragging about how I don’t have morning sickness…HA…it kicked in on Sunday. I spoke to soon and apparently jinxed myself).
Saw all the guys after the show, but I was so bloody exhauster that I got them to just sign a couple things, said a few words, took some pictures, and I practically fell asleep on the sidewalk outside the (scary) club. Honestly, the venue isn’t in the best part of town. Breanne and I made the mistake of WALKING there from our hotel in Dupont Circle (just over a mile away), and we feared for our well-being for a few LONG blocks.
You definitely are a dedicated fan and I'm sure you'll agree it was worth doing it to meet everyone.

A few more thoughts from DC:
Best version of IOD I have heard. Long instrumental / rant break in the middle section.
First ever mini 'train wreck' I've seen at a Hip show. During ABAC, Gord had problems with his inner-ear monitors falling out, which resulted in the lyrics being out of sync with the music at the end of the song. Just goes to show they are human.
Johnny gave me his sticks! And he signed one afterwards. I was happy to have the chance to thank him in person.
Washington is not the most fun place to drive around. Like Hugh, it took me about 40 minutes longer than planned to find the 9:30 Club. D'oh! This meant I only had 1.5 hrs. to metro down to the mall, run all over talking photos of the Capitol, White House, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial (probably about 2 miles) and metro back to get in line by 6p.
On having the show truncated: [seinfeld_through_clenched_teeth_with_clenched_fist] Late Show! [/seinfeld_through_clenched_teeth_with_clenched_fist]

Despite the short set, I had an absolute blast. Grace, Too and At the Hundredth Meridian were probably my faves of the night, although Nashville has to be up there too just because I gotta give props to the hometown. I really wish I had the chance to see 'em again soon . . . I was gonna go see the concert in Asheville, but it's 18-up and I still have like 6 months - figures.

We had a great time, we really did. And fabulous to meet you and Carolyn, Hugh! You two are the most adorable couple. I want to know her secret for staying so thin after kids!
It was a scary walk to the club from the hotel...but we opted to cab it back after the show, I feared for my well-being.
And yes, I was utterly exhausted after the show...I could have fallen asleep on the sidewalk, no problem!
Glad we met!!

Sorry this took so long...
Well, after religiously visiting Hipbase, I finally registered. So here are my pics from the DC show.... I had a great time with my girlfriend (a native southerner who now enjoys great Northern music) and we met a lot of cool people - mostly from my hometown (Buffalo).
sorry the pictures are blurry, I spilled a drink on the camera. Oops.

Welcome, and thanks for sharing the pics. It's a bummer that you spilled a drink on your camera, as you had a great angle for taking pictures.LaminarFlow wrote:Well, after religiously visiting Hipbase, I finally registered.
