Did anyone go to the show? No setlist on thehip.com yet. Spread your stories people, haha.

Ugh, haven't even had my coffee yet..
Thank God for e-commuting..

Okay..sorry for all the large files, I have tons.
Anyone want larger rez files of them let me know..

The band was great. It was a good show..very mellow, but good.
They played Silver Jet, which was sweet. We didn't get two encores,
but we got 4 in 1...

Of course Nashville was Asheville (misspelled on the setlist..LOL)
My obnoxious Widespread Panic fan doing the devil hands...

I'll put more up in a bit..I've got some great shots..

I am wondering if the crew is having sound problems with the
smaller venues. The HOB reviews said something to that effect,
and it was really muffled at the Orange Peel. That was the only
downer..couldn't hear the rants very well.

He got in couple of mic fights, he was REALLY sweaty and kept
dropping it..

Yeah, great shots! Were you onstage, or what? Nice. Is Gord D. growing his hair out? Looks a little shaggy....

Hey, Grace - do me a solid and relay a message to your Panic friend that for me, will ya? Tell her (him?) that "MIKEY LIVES!"

Whoa..someone really relished the moment..Bosox and the moon really did make it a very upbeat scene..

No I wasn't on stage.. I can see it now..
"Who's the red head, the one with the camera? She suppose to be here?"

No, I'm just small and fast..gotta be sneaky. Also, I do a good batting of the eyelashes to get in close..You Canadians are tall, jeeeezzz.

I also put a piece of tape over the flash to keep it from blowing out..

Thanks for the props..

It's a little digital Sony 5.1 pixel Cyber-shot..
It's tiny and I can get in close..I like the shape, because
it lends itself for doing vertical shots, which I prefer.

I use the Night setting, and like I said, but a little bit of scotch tape over
the flash, that tends to diffuse the flash, and i dont think it bugs the performers too much. Use the preview LCD on the back, and hold the camera us high as you can..

A non digital camera, you could do the same thing, just diffuse the flash and make sure that your lense is wide open (f 4, or lower)..However it's harder to do the over the head shot..With my print camera I shoot an old Nikon F3 with the Nikkor 110 lens..I literally crawl up on the stage until I get kicked off.. :thumb:

Nice Pictures!!! I will be using the same camera on Nov. 19th. The night setting eh? Will do. You just put scotch tape over the flash? so it flashed a little bit?

Did you use the zoom? and which focus did you use?

by the way my pics from Calgary are at:
http://community.webshots.com/album/155640092TjHzIN

I used an inexpensive digital, but I was up close.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you got it..just a little piece of tape..

I would hold your camera up over your head..that way you aren't looking up their noses and getting hats in the lower corners..and I zoomed in about quarter way, be careful when you zoom, makes it trickier to get crisp picts.

Good luck!

That's one of the best reviews I've ever read on these boards. Thanks for posting that!
