Yes, you really have had quite a month haven't you?
Really loved you pictures from last night! Nice work! :thumb:

Cheers!
Trevor
Were you standing beside me on bobby's side leaning on the speaker?
That was probably me leaning on the speaker with the orange shirt and the ball cap.

I wouldn't say the stage lights ruin pictures but rather older "junky" cameras (like you said) can't capture them properly. I mean The Completist did a wonderful job of "painting with light."

And besides, I think you did get some good shots.
Thanks for sharing!

Hey thanks man! The 4.3MP Nikon Coolpix I was using is just about that old as well. I do have a DSLR but I was respecting the request of MAv (and the band) and not using it!

But I do tell you that there were some great shots that I wish I had if for. The Nikon just can't compete in speed!

I hear ya with the speed thing.... we're lucky we know the bands/Gord's style... during certain songs or sequences you can kinda feel you should pump 4-5 shots off... ie.. when Gord gets the bandana out in position like the Bull is coming....

That's the joy of shooting them isn't it?
We know our subjects so well you can almost anticipate when and what they are going to do!

I love being that familiar with their concert antics!

maybe we'll take this to the photography forum... but is there other than mav's flickr and various fan sites a MASTER PHOTO DATABASE SITE for THE HIP ? would this be a sticky subject.... or could we as dedicated fans exploere this ? I have a fair amount of pictures... and a few rare ones?...ie backstage at the original roadside... etc..

I can create a photo upload/download/database page on thehundredthmeridian server if fans are interested.

PicsOfTheHip.com, pics.hipfans.com or something like that?

I would certainly like to persue this Chris.
I always thought it would be cool to have an "archive" or a resource where people could go and view the pictures that artists have taken over the years. We could incorporate tags to include everyone's copyright and stuff. It could even be a place that if someone is designing a cover for a DVD or CD or something, they can pull pictures from that show from.

As it stands right now isn't it only for charter members?

Also, that's a Lance project - out of the hands of Trevor and I, and having to rely on someone else as we go through the growing pains isn't something I'm interested in. :thumb:

Thanks Dana.
After a good discussion at lunch, I think we know the direction we are going to go.

Stay tuned.
