Last night I went with my dad, who was in Halifax for a night, to the Mooseheads game. In the Atrium/Lobby of the metro center, there was a live band playing covers. They played Fiddler's Green. My dad turned to me and said, "Have you ever seen the Hip play that one live?"... I turned to him and said, "This is the closest that anyone will ever come to seeing this live." And I then proceeded to tell him why and the story behind it.

I just shit a brick when I sat down and read this today.
I'm actually kind of freaked out....

I am assuming it has not been played live in a VERY long time! Can someone please clue me in about what seems to be a very cool thing and quite a big deal!!! Was there a reason why they don't play it? When was the last time before Calgary? Thanks fellow basers!!

I don't believe it has ever been played live before. Here is some info from a recent post.

Wow.

The look on Gord's face.
The look on Johnny's face.

The look on my face.

Not that I could have ever had the chance to see that, being in Toronto and all, but I do know that now, nothing special they do could ever surpass that moment as the single greatest Hip moment ever. It moved me deeply.

Amazing to re-live the experience - thanks BigA.
I would love to have some insight as to what made Gord finally decide to play his one - must have been tough for him to play, at the same time knowing how many people would be thrilled to hear it.

Stunned beyond words that they played it.

Just amazing.

Awesome, thanks for getting that up so quick.

I'm still pissed I had to miss the show, but I'm super stoked they're changing the sets up like this. It's amazing. I can't wait for tomorrow and Wed. I can't wait to get out of Saskatoon, it's killing me that they're playing in my hometown right now and I can't get to the shows.

That was Simply Beautiful.....
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!
