This show at Paradiso was one of the best (if not THE best) of the Hip that i've ever seen i guess.. The 'dutch girl' who got this crowd-surf guy on her shoulder was my mom.. She's doing fine! After the show I went backstage with her, and had great conversations with the band. So.. she's very well compensated by what happened - even decided to join me and my dad to Utrecht the next night!
BTW, i really enjoyed all the new songs. The Lonely end of the Rink really rocks, as well as I'm not the Ocean does.. and Pretend was just WONDERFUL.
I'm more than satisfied, i'm happy, it's a good life if don't miss the Hip...

hey now!

my wife and i were at the show, anyone here that we might have met? we were the couple from Buffalo, didn't have tickets. i don't remember many names, but we met the guy with the Leafs tshirt on from Toronto (who we noticed was in the front row with his face-value scalped ticket), the 3 guys from Vancouver, a couple of Scottish guys, the Canadian crew with the matching t-shirts and Carl from Buffalo (briefly) with the Sabres tshirt.

anyone of you guys around here? anyway, what an amazing show. i don't think i'll ever see a greater Hip show. Amsterdam, the antique Paradiso, the vibe... the Hip! unbelievable.

here are some pics (and some video) we took from the show. have quite a few more small videos, not sure if anyone is interested. wish the pics were better, but...

I'm one of them. I hardly post at all but considering what I've just experienced with 8 other guys that I now call friends, I will be.

I'm still in aww from that night. I re-watched some of that footage today and I can understand why Josh "the heron outside" said that it was magical and all most too good to be true. The whole trip was like that and the fans at the Paradiso where like no other. :D

here is a short video during 'Blow' to end the show. the crowd was lit up. this pretty much shows how intimate the situation was...

btw, i think everyone who needed a ticket, wound up getting one. such a great feeling to see the guy in the blue Maple Leafs shirt in the front row, rockin' out. he was in Amsterdam alone and wound up with a hundred friends. i kept looking down at him from the balcony and it just made me feel so good to see him having such a good time.

Hello Hiplovers!

Whoaaah awesome show! I am sorry about my late post, but yeah.. the show rocked! It was great to see a bunch of Canadians again rocking heir socks off. And to see the delegation from Canada, filming the whole show. I can't wait to see all of that online. I love the new Ocean song a lot and i'll bet it must be a great great album!

So now, back to the mp3 and wait till they drop a line again...
Although I mst see them in Canada live!

A proud hipfan
