One hot night in Milwaukee. Very solid performance by the boys from Kingston. I will write more later on when I upload my pictures. Met a few great Canadians at the show and nice chatting with you Chris from Chicago after the show. Thanks for the Chicago travel tips. We will see how they work out tomorrow.
See you CHI-Town tomorrow.

Ahh ... It's a Good Life When The Hip Are Touring.
Gord almost dinged a security guy in head with his oar.
Microphone and microphone stand were putting up a pretty good fight.
The crowd wasn't unruly at all in my area (at the barrier in front of Rob) - except for Obligatory Drunk Guy in white Hip hockey jersey, who was just annoying v. totally obnoxious/rude.

Yesterday's show was my first time seeing The Hip and it was well worth the 2 and a half hour drive. After growing up on their music I didn't know who was more excited--me or my dad.
Also, I must say that Hip fans are the most polite people in the universe. I have never been to a concert where people actually introduce themselves, chat, etc. I don't know if I met any of you, but I was the teenage girl in the blue tanktop, third row.
I wish I had some photos or videos to offer, but my camera is...well, it's a piece of crap. My recordings of Courage and Gift Shop both have static and I can barely hear the vocals. And my pictures didn't turn out so well, either, as you can see...

Well worth the 6 hour drive. My third time seeing the Hip, probably my favorite because A.) I brought 3 first-timers including my girlfriend B.) We were 5th row dead center and C.) They seemed really well rested. Gord's voice was as good as I'd ever heard it; I think they had 4 days of rest since their last show?
There was about an 8 minute fight between Gord and the microphone stand during 100th Meridian. In fact, I think Billy had to replace the stand and the microphone for the encore- he was really rough on it.
Does anyone know- what time did the show get done and when did it start central time? It seems like they didn't start until at least 10:30 central, but my cousin said I called her to pick us up before midnight. I would find it hard to believe that they could cram 19 songs into <90 minutes.

The show started at 10:10pm, I think it was listed to start at 10:00pm. I remember at about 10:05pm the guys in the crew we talking over the soundsystem that they had to "speed it up" when it came to tuning the guitars, checking the mics, etc...then about 5 minutes later the Hip came on.
The show ended at 11:45pm.

I Drove 9 hrs from Northeastern MI to experience The HIP at summerfest. It was my 7th hip show and they did not disappoint. It was the most animated that I had ever seen Gord. "No Threat" was the highlight for me as far as the setlist. The other highlight was briefly being joined by a dark haired goddess wearing a green bandanna on her head. Where did you go?
Thanks douder!! One of the best days of my life. Playing a best of three 4-on-4 hockey series and then seeing the HIP. Here's to "gettin' the band back together." Rock on MIL-TOWN!!
