09/30/07 - Köln, Germany - The Prime Club

Post by borgs »

sorry for posting this here but i just got back from the show and there is no köln (you can tell i am in germany because i can write ööös and äääääs and i keep mixing up mz yyys and zzzzs) topic in the show review section... please someone move this when zou get a chance.

cool show, good set, crazy venue.

the place reminded me a lot of the horseshoe in toronto but was actually a bit smaller i think. tiny stage.

i cant remember the set exactly but it went something like...

ocean
new o
escape (made up for scratching it from the encore in brussels... wicked)
in view

(out of order from here for sure)

music at work
abac
bobc
nautical (not the biggest fan of bobcaygeon live but it just belongs before ND)
courage
luv sic (havent heard that in europe yet)
family band
hundredth meridian
pretend
little bones

encore:
rink
fireworks (thugs was written on the set between the two... they didnt play it... but hopefully tomorrow)

(feel like im missing a few, the other guys will fill in the gaps)

all around great show, memorable venue.

as one of a handful of hipbasers over here i havent been posting much but ill try to make up for it when the tours over.

its late here now, and im awfully sick, gotta go to sleep... i hope theres not a weird spanish girl sleeping in my hostel bed again when i get there.

good night.

Here's the exact setlist. And BigA emailed me to say it was like the Horseshoe, only smaller as well.

01: Yer Not The Ocean
02: New Orleans Is Beat
03: Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin’ Man…
04: Gus: The Polar Bear From Central Park
05: In View
06: Bobcaygeon
07: Nautical Disastar
08: Courage
09: Pretend
10: Family Band
11: At The 100th Meridian
12: Ahead By A Cenytury
13: Luv (sic)
14: My Music At Work
15: Little Bones

Encore
16: At The Lonely End Of The Rink
17: Fireworks

Maybe you're the one who got me sick... 'cause I feel horrible - drowning in my snot.

02: New Orleans Is Beat
I'm thinking that's a typo but if not, good job guys for slipping that song back into the lineup.

New Orleans Is Beat?!  That's a great setlist - good to see some different stuff on there. I'm gutted I couldn't have been there. :(

That's what it should say on my list... I don't know why my fingers typed Beat instead of Sinking. Oops.

Hey guys,

I was there too. I was a great gig. But always sad to see how unknown the Hips are in Germany.

The gig was a little short but very intensive. Gordon´s gone real crazy on stage. That´s why we love him, heh?

The German Base !!
