From TheHip.com:

Tapers Alert: No Video cameras at The Warfield

Posted on: 10/05/2007

Hey there,

Due to regulations beyond our control, no video taping is allowed at The Warfield. Audio & point and shoot cameras are no problem.

Does the point and shoot reference also mean that DSLRs with telephoto lenses will not be permitted?

No type of "fancy" camera allowed.

So stoked for this show! I have even gone so far as to deprive myself from listening to The Hip for the last month for added effect.

:-)

FS: 1 Floor ticket for the San Francisco Warfield show today

Post by nohochin »

I know this is a long shot, but want to make my (suddenly) extra ticket available to basers first (before selling to some random at the venue). Selling for under face value ($30), but you would have to meet me at the Warfield BEFORE the doors open at 7pm.

Normally I wouldn't give out my phone number on a messageboard, but due to the tight timing of this thing, here it is:

Nick
four zero eight, two one nine, zero five eight zero

Oh, if I don't answer, PLEASE leave a message, my cell coverage is bad in my building...

Great show. Setlist, mostly in order and without getting the cover:

Lonely
Grace
Music at Work
Giftshop
Gus
Family
ABAC
In View
Poets
Pretend
Fireworks
100th M
Escape
Fiddlers
Ocean
Locked
Fire in the Hole

Put it Off
Cover
NOIS

For me, Giftshop, Fireworks, Escape and Locked were new live. They were very tight. I thought Robbie and Gord S. were particularly strong.

The cover was Mr. Soul by Buffalo Springfield (Neil Young).

Well, I guess they put it off long enough.

Put It Off

Post by nohochin »

YES YES YES! F'n PUT IT OFF!!!! I was absolutely amazed when it started, kept saying to myself, "no, no way". I got some great photos last night, and a few (hopefully) decent digital camera vid clips, one of which includes Put It Off.

I don't think many of the people there new what kind of gem we had there, obviously it is an obscure song, so I don't blame them...

;-)

Anyway, I must say I was thoroughly impressed with my 5th show of the year, I'm gonna have a huge grin on my face all day/week now...

Oh, and since I hadn't heard Escape live recently, that was a highlight too.

:-D

Oh, and that setlist is almost correct, the order is a bit off though, it went:

In View
Poets
Pretend
Fireworks
100th M
Escape
Fiddlers

Mr. Soul is a kick ass song. I would have loved to hear that cover.

That is a very solid setlist. Fingers crossed for a recording to surface.

What a run of songs this is -- maybe the best 40 consecutive minutes of live Hip this year? Almost tempts me to get on a plane to Denver this weekend to catch their Colorado shows. Almost.
Congrats on seeing such a great show. Did you see any tapers there?
