Less than two weeks, I can't wait. Last show for me was Oshawa in January....too long!

Any song predictions? Are the guys still doing covers? Which ones have they done recently?

Anyone else from Hipbase going to this show? I convinced my wife to make the trip down to go shopping in Syracuse, with one catch...we had to go see The HIp. This will be my 15th show...the 6th one for her...she still says she's not a fan...but I think she doesn't want to admit it.

I gotta say that the show was decent but the crowd was less than desirable. I really think that someone should tell 16 year old kids who have never drank that drinking and dancing don't mix when you're running into people and spilling drinks all over people. The worst part was they pushed to the front of the orchestra aisles and then complained about people standing at the seats they paid for. The set list was decent and Gord was his typical self but to tell the truth I am hoping for a much better show tonight in Rochester. Sorry for the somewhat negative review but of all the shows I've seen this was probably the least enjoyable experience due to the types of people.

Great Show!

I will agree with the above as per the crowd. MANY "kids" and some were quite immature. But that aside, I thought the show was amazing. I brought my fiancee, her first Hip show and she loved it. The set list was great, Gord was himself, and the pumpkin giveaway was quite funny as security confiscated the pumpkins he gave away, only to go back over to the same (confiscated) pumpkins and hand them out again as security tried to talk him out of it. Another highlight was when Gord accidentally snapped the mic stand in half while "riding the pony" and decided to twirl the broken half like a baton, also given to a fan. He also did the infamous "lawn chair", "running up the speakers", "relief when he discovered the thing standing behind him was just a mic stand", and the ever popular "handkerchief catch" (repeatedly). All in all, a great show. We were not on the floor so the kids pushing weren't too much of a bother, but we could see it from the balcony. Word of advice to anyone going to a show at the Landmark, do not get "floor" seats unless you are in the first 10 rows or so, get within the first 5 rows of the balcony, you're practically right at the stage. GREAT SHOW!

Check out my "Tragically Hip - Syracuse" videos on YouTube.

Great show! I wish I could be at Hogansburg tonight - last stop on the tour.

What were the instructions?

Post by jodisoko »

Can anyone break down what Gord said at the beginning of Springtime in Syracuse? The actual "instructions from the manual"? I love it!
Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5K2uNnA9N4 to hear it.
Thanks in advance.

As far as everyone saying the crowd wasn't in it...
When have they been at Landmark? I have been to each show at this theatre since day for night.
I can recall the people in the front row flipping them off and having them cut the set short in '98.
I also remember the "evening with" shows in 2000 where at the end of meridian he put the mic to the fans who did not sing along (as the did the previous night in ROC).
And even the band's lackluster performance in 2002 (toward the bottom of my 36 shows attended).
I would have to say, all in all, this was the BEST show they've played at Landmark out of the six or so I've seen there.
