Tapers Forum News

Post by Corby »

This new section was designed for all the discussion regarding the organization and taping of shows. My idea behind it is to allow the tapers on the base to stay in closer touch with each other, and better manage taping duties when it comes to recording shows; a place to bounce ideas off one another and streamline efforts.

The forum is only viewable by members, meaning the public or general users shouldn't even know its here. To become a member you've be added individually. The way I see it working is that the forum has to promote the members. Basically just send me a PM if there's somebody who should be in this forum.

It's operation is up in the air. Post your suggestions here. I have no idea if this forum is going to help or not, or just be ignored, but theres no harm in testing it out.

A list of who is already added would be a good start.

You can get the names by hitting the "Usergroups" link up top, then selecting the Tapers group.

Here is the list. I want it to be as comprehensive as possible so give me any and all names of those to be included. It will probably work best if this forum doesn't act like a "Taper Club" but just a venue for anyone involved with the taping, past, present or future to collaborate. I know everyone I added so far probably doesn't need this forum, you've all done well this far without it. Myself, I'm just going to start taping and I know I could benefit from more experienced tapers.

Anyone let me know if I step over any boundaries, I won't be offended if I'm just being ignorant.

Dryfuss, he just upgraded to cassette and a radio shack condenser mike, so I guess he is a taper now!

Uh im not officially a " Taper " but I do have a pretty good quality camera that does some good audio and video. You can check out my youtube videos at
http://www.youtube.com/wesleync
I know my stuff aint the best but a good idea for this forum is mabye to post links to what kind of taping equipment each of youse use. That way the rest of us can see what it is exactly that your using.
I for one would buy a taping system if I knew exactly what im looking for and what it entails.

I'd say 100% no to video at both, and unlikely for audio. Union rules seem to trump band rules.

I want to get some Church Audio mics still. I ran Marks during the Wintersleep tour in December and really liked them.

I got a package deal through taperssection.com - Chris Church posts deals there quite often.

I liked the price, they sound nice, and he's local to me if there's a problem.
