A quick heads-up to anyone attending this show. I will not be recording this show (audio or video), so if someone else wants to take the taping reins, feel free. I've been recording Hip shows for 12 years now, and it's time to retire. See you all there!

No surprises, but for Fiddler's Green. First time I've heard that in 30 shows. It made my night. Full setlist to come. After 5 hours sleep, I now need to go to work! Happy Canada Day, everyone!

What a night, Collective Soul were awesome, The Hip even better! The band sounded great last night. Did anyone get pictures? I forgot my camera at home, so not only did i come away without and pictures, they wouldn't even let me keep my ticket stub!

As for the setlist, no real surprises no, the only songs i hadn't heard live previously which they played were "fiddlers green" and "it's a good life if you don't weaken". The highlights for me were "fiddlers green", "world container", and all of "poets", "new orleans is sinking" and "blow at high dough" were fantastic as always.

Here's a sample of what the setlist looked like, only the first few songs & the encore are in order, and i could be missing a track or two...

yer not the ocean
courage
grace, too
my music at work
the drop off
in view
family band
ahead by a century
world container
fiddlers green
fully completly
gift shop
springtime in vienna
poets
bobcaygeon
fireworks
it's a good life if you don't weaken
new orleans is sinking

encore:
the lonely end of the rink
wheat kings
blow at high dough

Great night in Charlottetown. Standard setlist, few nice surprises (Fiddlers, KWT Riff). The weather held out for a perfect night. I have a few pictures I will post them when I find my camera.

Big thanks to Rory for driving, I don't get to play passenger much.

I have the set list from the sound board..they took out  Locked for Gift Shop and 50MC for Blow. I was hoping to hear Locked, but I am not complaining. Great show, as usual. Fiddler's was an absolute treat. Had a great time and always cool to hookup with Hipbase groupies and attend the show. Lance, Steve, Rory, Brandy and Jason.

Sorry I didn't get to see you dogs. Too busy up front!
Also, they played Blow At High Dough instead of 50 Mission Cap... that would have been nice.
Oh well. It was forkin' sweet!

I think I saw you, Bonner. You were the guy who kept sitting on another guy's shoulders all show, right?

Great time. After they finished the third song, I turned to Rory and said that it was worth it already. :) Gord's voice sounded terrific. I begin hearing some technical difficulties during Giftshop and then on some other songs after. It seemed like Robbie's guitar was too loud or something. There was some distortion. I had a hard time hearing some of Robbie's solos, but it didn't really matter. The show was awesome. I only cursed at a few people. Paul pulling on the mic chord to get the mic out of Gord's heart was priceless. Gord must have thrown about 50 hankies into the crowd, which was strange but funny.  Gord chased Billy Ray off the stage, which was cool. Gord got his head rubbed near the end of the show by the fans, which was kind of funny. Gord wore that classic shirt that some say is a shirt that Bubbles would wear. I took a few pics but most of them didn't turn out. I have a cheap camera. Lance was taking pics all night, though. I'm sure his will be good.

Being around Darren, Lance, Rory, Jason, and Brandy during Collective Sould made it as fun as possible. Funny comments were flowing like wine. Lance, I heard you snickering when the CS lead singer started playing the AC/DC riff. The old guy in the crowd with the Harley Davidson leather jacket was a riot, almost getting into a fight with a young lad. Technically, one or two punches were thrown so I guess you could call it a fight. Seeing the old guy square off like he was Bruce Lee was definitely entertaining.

Well, it was a great night all around for me. Got to see Rory all hopped up on Red Bull before the show :) and got to make a fool of myself at the Olde Dublin before the show. Jason, Darren, Rory, Brandy, and Lance, it was a pleasure to hang out with you and watch the show, even if I was an easy target at times for your jokes and mocking me. :D :D

While walking back to my car, some stranger stopped me and gave me a backstage pass. I went to the venue to try to get backstage but, alas, they wouldn't let me back in. Oh well, I tried. :x

I knew you'd be there, Bonner. All those camera shots of the crowd up front, and none of us spotted you... unless you were the dude in the yellow shirt. Kinda looked like you, but then not.

The hip in Charlottetown were amazing as always, Gord lived up to his Gord Downing the Entertainer" Name and the band rocked out hard. They sounded awsome and Gords voice was supreme if you ask me!

-Wheat Kings and pretty things!

That was me. I've grown a bit of a shag since the last time we've crossed paths.
I went back to around the soundboard after the show to see if you boys we're there, just because I assumed that's where you would be. Oh well, I guess I'll see you guys at Hip Show #11.
