i went to 4 shows already on this tour and they are awesome, and my grilfriend seen them for the first time and now loves tem, so this show is one that we can make. but can someone please tell me why the hell doors open at 5 and show starts at 6, it would be over befor 9, when they should go on, and after reading about the place it does not sound like a fun place what so ever. unless there is an opener for this show.. so does anyone have any idea about this show and why its so early or has someone been to this venu, and would know if it is worth driving up from Buffalo, Ny to see?. i really do not understand why they would go on at 6 pm, that is way to early.
ok thanks

the venue is a rather nice outdoor venue (free ben & jerry's ice cream and sell beer). jackson brown is playing there july 14 with doors at 6:00 and show at 7:00. just a guess but the early start times may have something to do with the lake champlain ferry schedule. the venue is south of burlington vermont. the essex (ny) to charlotte (vt) ferry stops running about 9:30pm or so. the grand isle ferry north of burlington runs 24 hours. it is quite a long drive around if you miss the last ferry from charlotte. no idea if that is the reason but it is the only thing i can think of.

yes you would drive to the ferry and when you get off you will have a short drive to the venue. you drive your car on to the ferry. go to www.ferries.com (ph# 802-864-9804) for the schedule and directions. you will be going north on interstate 87 and get off at exit 31 (i think it is marked westport and elizabethtown). i believe it is well marked (probably 10 - 12 miles) to the ferry but there are more specific directions on the web page. if you wanted to avoid the ferry on the way up you can get off 87 around exit 19 (lake george area) and head over to rutland vermont via rte 4 (i think) then up to shelburne on rte 7.

Just got tickets for this...pretty excited. Convinced my wife of coming by telling her that we would make a camping weekend out of it

I finally got the tickets and the hotel room for the show, it will be a 7 hour drive from buffalo for me, which kinda sucks cause the show is so damn early, but any thing to do once you get in town there? Also hope its a really good show since it is a long drive, and i just found ouot they are now playing right near buffalo again, Have they eevr played here before? how big is the venue and people have said its a nice out door venue, i hope all of this is true and look foward to seein them play and everyone there at the show.

downie_24,
From what I understand it's just the hip. The listing for it is at http://highergroundmusic.com/calendar/show/3205/ and doesn't list another band.

Jrock1818,
For stuff to do, head into Burlington itself if you have time (about 6 miles from the venue) - some good bars/restaurants...
The venue is basically a sloped field with not a lot of infrastructure (i.e. portalets...) but in a way that's a good thing - you can do what you want further back :-) They do search bags at the entrance but usually not much more than that.
I live in Burlington so I have seen a couple of shows there and have always had a great time. Bring rain gear cause they are calling for possible showers and bring boots cause it can get a little wet, especially up front.
They have never played this venue.
I tried to shoot you a private message but can't cause it says I don't have at least 10 posts. If you can and want to shoot me a private message, I can email you answers to any other questions you may have.

If anyone else has questions, feel free to ask.

I am getting psyched for this show which will be about my 40th hip show !!!!
