I was thinking the same. Maybe they are going to "test out" some songs on the west coast shows....like...o, I don't know.... CORDELIA!

Awesome! Thugs and Courage acoustic, very nice.

So stoked for SF this weekend...

Hoping for Put It Off (I know, slim chance). They played it last time they were here though...

Says here: http://eventful.com/westhollywood/venue ... 00189211-5 the Troubadour can hold 500. Not sure if they have been sold out though (I haven't gone to the LA shows).

I would *guess* that they are not sold out though. Of all the US shows I have gone to, SF x 5, Vegas x 3, LA x 1, only one of the shows has been sold out (SF) (not including this Saturday's show, which is also sold out).

I heard it holds about 450-500. If that is true...wow!

I got a text last night from my friend who made the trip from San Diego last minute and decided to scalp a ticket outside and hope for the best. He paid $10 more than face.

Text read..
"2.5 hours, 12 feet away, best concert ever, best band ever. UNBELIEVABLE."

The Hip isn't even this person's fav band. Well, at least they weren't. He has only seen them in large hockey arenas (HSBC arena) and outdoor venues (Darien Lake). This club show made him appreciate catching them out west in a small place.

In other words, don't let the SOLD OUT thing sway you to not go. It will be worth the $40. (All of us paying $70+ would be jealous!)

Tell your friend that if he wants to really blow his mind, come up to the SF shows Sat/Sun. The Fillmore is an amazing historic venue, and The Hip are always "on" there (more so than usual). Of all the places I have seen them, Saskatoon, Calgary, Vegas, LA, other SF venues, The Fillmore stands out as being my favourite venue to see them. Oh, and I happen to have a single ticket available for each show.

Thanks Nick. I am not sure he would be able to make it up north. I know it is a hike from SD to SF. My guess is that there will be a few other Hip fans out there that put off getting tix and will need one. How many does the Fillmore hold? Bigger or smaller than LA?

I have heard of it as being historic but know nothing of SF except for that there is a big red famous bridge, Bob Saget and the folks from Full House lived on a really steep street there, T.O. started out there, ... and there are a lot of steroids there that seemed to find their way into the hands of a guy named Barry. Oh yeah, and people wait in canoes to scoop baseballs out of the water. Guess I know more about the city than I thought.

Maybe The Hip have a Full House marathon the day before and rock out like Uncle Jessie used to back in the day.

That must be their secret!
