I may be able to provide a live setlist to this show tonight if somebody who is going is willing to send text messages.

Won't be able to make it tonight. My fiancee is horribly sick with the (swine?) flu and i'm taking care of her. We've both been looking forward to this concert and there's no way i'd go without her, so i'll catch 'em next time around.

Y'all better have a setlist up after, though. :rambo:

My buddy had been texting me live update through the Council meeting I was covering. Being as close to the stage as he is, he was able to fire me off all of set two before his phone died. Seeing as how now I'm home, no one is updating this thread, and it's almost near the end anyway, eff it, here we go. If any audibles happen after BobC, so be it.

Will up date if any of that changes. Apparently the venue is about 2/3 full tonight. A fan was mercilessly booed for trying to give GD a mini Bruins jersey - kind of like DC becoming more of a hockey town. Wardrobe highlights include a Sabres Hasek jersey (which I debate being a highlight at all) and an Iafrate Leafs jersey, blue, circa 1991.

Cheers,

Pat

Haha, I saw you before the show - I was the girl wearing the jean jacket with the navy Sabres shirt.

Other wardrobe highlights I saw were a Gretzky Oilers jersey, Nordiques t-shirt, several Laffs jerseys...

Yes, it was very sweet. Up to that point I had been thinking that the Baltimore show Sat. night had been better then they did this.

I managed to snag a setlist and originally they had planned to play Wheat Kings but changed it to Fiddlers Green.

Overall another great show. Really bummed that these are the only 2 shows I'll be making it to this year. :(

Oh, and I heard that at least 2 of the Capitals were there, Mike Green and Nicklas Backstrom. And towards the end of the show I noticed a lifesize cutout of Obama up in the corner balcony. Haven't a clue who was responsible for that but it looked pretty funny.

This was the text I got:
"Just saw the rest of the setlist when the house lit up. This is gonna get stupid soon."

I would concur. I talked with my buddy post-show about the gig. 9:30 Club has a special place in my heart. Him and I went there for the Oct.26 (ish) show in 2007, right before I took the job up here in Port Elgin and very shortly after I split with my fiance. It was one of those "this is excatly where I need to be right now moments." So when he calls post show, he said there was a bit of deja vu for him - taking the same picture of GD, during the same song, from the same spot, two years later - but at the same time, it also felt like home.

And that's the thing: this band always feels like home. No matter how many times I gringe when Poets starts, there's no place in the world I think I'd rather be.

Cheers,

Pat

Probably my favorite HIP show to date. Combination of venue, set list, standing up front with a great bunch of people I just met (I went to the show solo), and the band just rocking. Personal favorites were "Escape is at Hand...." with some great guitar work from Rob, the crowd erupting to "Fully,Completely" and "Springtime...". As mentioned in a Pittsburgh note, Gord was bonding with the crowd. He dismantled a mike stand and handed it to a lucky fan, then gave a mike to a young boy that had been in front of the stage all night (this after a tug of war with the lad for one of the many white towels that sailed into the crowd during a very hot night in the 930.), and leaned into the crowd and had folks strumming his guitar at one point. Last night is a perfect example of why we all love seeing live music, and why these guys are one of the best live bands out there.
