Review from my buddy Skweaz:

Started a little after 9pm, split into two sets, first portion lasted about an hour, then 15-20 minute break and back on for an "intimate" acoustic portion (4 tracks or so), where they pulled in a smaller drum kit and stools. After that they went back to their regular stage positions.

Gord was especially ranty, too much at times. He jumped onto the floor for a couple tracks, once with just the mic, the other time playing guitar.

Bobby had a guitar change mid song which Gouchie and I really liked, I dont think I have ever seen that done before. There was lots of guitar changes and even a lot of mic changes for Gord.

Gord's new schtick with the sweat rags is bizarre. They are rolled up like hacky sacks and they keep getting thrown at him from stage right after he loses one to the crowd. He must have went through 40-50 sweat rags. He incorporates them into the songs at times, using them as a mask, doing some faux magic etc. Really weird. We were trying to imagine what the budget for these look like on the books.

Song highlights for me:

Hundredth Meridian
Grace, Too
Wheat Kings (this was my 8th Hip show and have never seen this live, a very nice treat)

They played a lot of new tracks, not much different from the album. I expected them to be a bit more rocking for these new items but they weren't Not complaining, I enjoyed them just as much. I think there was 24 tracks total split over the two sets. Sorry, I don't have set list. I should have photographed the lists, we were next to the mixing board and looked at them frequently (although some of the writing was indiscernable).

Another thing we liked was when Gord was getting the crowd to sing along he "cast" his mic out like a fishing reel and pulled it back in. Nice work.

I'm sorry, but there's no such thing as too much ranting from Gord. He could rant for an hour straight and I'd stand there and listen to every word with a gigantic smile on my face.

I concur wholeheartedly! However, I'm sure you can imagine how odd it can be to the casual fan.

Great vids, thx! I'm noticing a different lighting set up for this show. It's not the pixled large background pannels they've been using recently. Does anyone know if this is the house lighting rig for La Zona Rosa, or do the boys have a scaled down set up for smaller clubs. BTW I thought the Radiohead style lighting effects for Giftshop were superb!

I've seen them at La Zona Rosa twice and it's a very small club - approx 500 capacity. There's no room for that screen behind the stage. I couldn't say whether that's the club's light rig but it's cool nontheless.

And call me a pervert.
But the 2 girls kissing in the beginning of this video make this song even better, which I did not think was possible.

I didn't even notice that the first time I watched it. Thanks! That is a nice, sweet, touching girl-on-girl smooch :thumb:
