Just back from the gig. The venue was changed from "The Village" to "Tripod".

We booked our hotel to be close to The Village and were quite displeased to learn when we arrived in Dublin that the venue had been changed. We spoke to an Aer Lingus pilot in Glasgow last night and he told us the show had been moved so it wasn't a complete surprise.

But after a few minutes of internetting we were happy to learn that the new venue is next door to our hotel!

The venue itself is awesome. Limestone walls to the left and right. Real brick around the stage. Sound baffles every where. The sound was terrific.

The show felt like a repeat of last night save for a few songs.

Setlist
t01 - New Orleans Is Sinking
t02 - The Depression Suite
t03 - Poets
t04 - It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken
t05 - Fireworks
t06 - Springtime In Vienna
t07 - Morning Moon
t08 - Family Band
t09 - Love Is A First
(Grace, Too was on the setlist as the final song of the first set, but not played here.)

t11 - Courage (Acoustic)
t12 - Coffee Girl (Acoustic)
t13 - Fiddler's Green (Acoustic)
t14 - Gift Shop
t15 - Ahead By A Century
t16 - In View
t17 - At The Hundredth Meridian
t18 - Bobcaygeon
t19 - Fully Completely
t20 - My Music At Work

t21 - Grace, Too
(Frozen In My Tracks was on the setlist as the first song of the encore but not played.)
t22 - Blow At High Dough

It's raining. The tour is over.

I don't know the official reason for the change of venue but most everyone that we spoke to said that Tripod is larger than The Village.

Off to the chip shop.

I recorded audio.

Nope. No mention of it.

Gord was talkative tonight - with lots of jokes like "My sweat is 99% water. The other 1% is machismo. It's puts hair on your chest."

He said this to a girl in the first row after he'd just drenched her in sweat.

i was surprised that the original venue was the village seeing as last time they filled the ambassador so a move to a bigger venue was on the cards. great show. i think a few people got caught out with the early start. i wish they played here more often. i'll post some photos later.

Yeah I tihnk some people in London got caught out - I certainly didn't think it would be such a log set. Turned up early though, so was right near the front - but when I turned round near the end of the first set, it was just a sea of hipfans :)

I was at this show and the one in Utrecht ... both were f**cking great ,... they are better than they have ever been.

Enjoyed them both loads, the Dutch one was a little hazy ;) and the Dublin gig was full of Bubbles! :)

The Hip must be the best live rock band on Earth :)

Thanks for posting these vids. Looks (and sounds) like it was a great show with an enthusiastic crowd.
