Kids Don't Get It was Gord's way of coming down on all the donkeys and meatheads for a full 4 minutes and 35 seconds.

Even though they know Edmonton isn't usually like that, I wanted to apologize to them profusely. Never have I seen a band so upset about the actions of audience members.

It sure seemed like it, as Gord sang it with a lot of venom in his voice. I'm betting it wasn't even on the original setlist. That song is a beast!

What a shame. I am glad I didn't go. If I paid to see my favourite band kill it on stage, and had to listen to that - not what I call enjoyable. Good on Gord for calling those out, liked the part where he mentioned that it was the fans who got there first, only to be crushed, that's some nice recognition.

My first post here!
So glad to be on board.

I was front row center at both the Dawson Creek and Edmonton shows in July.
Since when did the Hip become a mosh pit crowd surfing band?

By the second song in at the Dawson Creek show Gord had stopped singing and was trying to get securities attention to a fist fight that had started. And then another fight started. Gord was quite angry and made many comments about how people were acting. I was seriously concerned he was going to shut the whole concert down. You could see his concern throughout the evening. Talking with security this always happens in Dawson Creek. Good to know. Not that the guys will even go back to Dawson.

It was a great show but the crowd surfing drunken punks were crazy. At least 30 people were removed, and none to kindly by security.

Edmonton was exactly the same. minus the fights happening in the crowd. I was black and blue by the end of it all. The push of the crowd in Edmonton was crazy. People were asking security to be pulled from the crowd. I have never experienced anything like that before.

That being said. Both were fantastic shows. Nothing quiite like seeing the boys live!
And I have a new appreciation of Mr. Sinclair. I stood in front of him at the Edmonton show....... ya pretty sweet.
Can't wait to hear the new album!

Stay Hip!
