What? I miss Josephine!

At least they're playing Last of the Unplucked Gems! Which better be a trend continuing in Windsor.

I'd take Fiddlers or Long Time Running over Gems....but anything from RA is cool with me.

forget the same setlist complaints already, nothings the same...its about perception. You get to notice the ins and outs jam of songs and they are always different. Watching Rob kick in to songs espically is awesome and going back and forth with Paul (espically during NOIS was cool).. another moment that got me was in between Poets and courage: Poets ended and Gords mic fell so he continously tried to soccer kick it up to himself but kept missing to the point where he got a lil rattled and pretended to spear his mic stand into the crowd lol -and at his full throwing lunge! Johnny kicks in with the bass to courage!! timed perfectly from behind and flowed amazing from thier.. hahaha.

another thing that blew me, was the Blow at high dough intro.. it was rooted from thursday night!
something like... "just to let you know this is called blow at high dough, not blow hyrdo! UNLESS YOU GOT SOME!"

Here's Gems - I took it more for the sound, so forgive the bad visual!

Had a fun time at the show, met some fun people, crowd was very friendly. Not sure where these drunk frat idiots are that everyone speaks of.

Anyway VIP was a total joke, and parking the camper on the Niagara rec trail was the best idea ever. No shuttle required (that looked like a giant MESS after the show), and woke up to be the only ones in the lot. Do it in style, folks!

But what really matters was the concert I suppose. New Pornographers were great, Death Cab was a bit boring (and I LOVE death cab), and the Hip were the Hip. Played some of my favourite songs, and didn't play some of my other favourites. No big deal, I still had a great night.

Going to skip VIP for eternity from now on, and will probably hold out for the "gem" shows in the future. Like the Bala show tonight - wish I waited for something special instead of jumping on the VIP outdoor festival bandwagon like a fool.

That song Drip though, really? I'm just not feeling it - need to listen to the real deal on the record a few times. Always a fan of those songs I hate at first but grow on me after. Only TTH can do that...

Earth to The Hip, your concert promoter does not understand the VIP concept :nooooo

LiveNation is costing this band money by losing the trust of fans that would otherwise gladly pay extra for an enhanced concert experience, especially for an outdoor GA show in Canada.

Drip is a great live song, having heard it 3 times now.
VIP was a joke at Downsview, and NOTL as well. How can anyone justify paying so much extra for a slightly shorter beer and bathroom line? (And if you're Canadian, you'll stand in the longest line there is anyway).

That's awesome news Chris. Any chance of a summer fling DVD release similar to 2006?
