Well, I just bought two tixs for this show. Tiny theater (750 seats) on a Monday night in Billings. When i bought my tixs it looked like they had only sold about 150 tixs so far for this show. I'm pretty excited to see them in such a small venue.

actually getting kinda worried about the ticket sales for this show. Seeing as I have front row seats in such a tiny venue, I hope they don't go to the lengths of cancelling it. Hopefully there are brisk walk-up sales the night of the show with some local advertising... I can't imagine cancelling would be the case but only 150-200 sold in a 750 venue can't possibly turn a profit either. Fargo, ND on the other hand is doing quite well it seems

Heading down from Saskatoon. Front row. Better happen!
Actually going there for nearly the same price as going to Regina show, but staying 3 nights instead of 1. Super cheap hotels and tickets. Need to convince more to go and fill some seats!

The Crowne Plaza and the Best WEstern Plus are both within walking distance of the theater. Both can be reserved for 40-50$ a night. Originally they are 120$ per night. But, if you go to priceline and name your own price, the hotels will give in at anywhere from 35$ to 50$. These are very nice hotels for the Billings area. There is another site which hosts "mystery" hotels. For this, just pick the area downtown (27th street) and choose hotels three 1/2 stars. The only ones to come up will be the crown plaza or the BWP. Knowing these two things will greatly reduce your traveling fees.

I travel to Billings often since I live in Sheridan, Wyoming (about an hour away). Please let me know your concerns or questions.

Take care, Have a great show....

A while back I booked an unpublished rate through Expedia, and got the Best Western Clocktower for $53/night (plus taxes). Very happy with that rate, hotels of similar caliber in my hometown go for around $150, so seems like a steal. I was 99% sure it was the Best Western, which is why i went this route over Priceline (didn't want to risk being outside of downtown) Super close to theatre and good reviews. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and bars too.

Kevala - any tips on drink and restaurant deals downtown?

This place is less than a block from venue. I have never been here but may check it out. Happy hour is 4-7 and seems entertaining enough.

Thebends Nice...., I have always been very loving, but not always nice.

As my friend always used to tell me, "You do not have to like someone in order to Love them."

Take care, See you there....

Looks like many brewpubs nearby as well. Yellowstone, carters, angry hanks, Montana brewing all close. Planning on checking out Old Chicago too, Not a brewpub and a cab ride away, but apparently huge beer selection. And planning to hit the gun range. 9 hour drive might be totally worth it. :-)

Also, FYI I have found a way to get some free tickets for this show if you are interested... There are a number of leftover seats that the venue will want to fill during these remaining days. I know a place where the probability of winning free tickets is above average.

Is there private messaging available on this site? I would not like to post this possible source of free stuff publicly....yet.

hey folks, i posted this in ticket exchange, but time is short and it doesn't seem to be a heavily visited area so i thought i'd post it here.

sadly i have to give up my front row seats on paul's side of the stage for this one, tickets were 96.00 with all taxes and charges in

if anyone wants to upgrade to front row, or fargo folks want to make it a roadtrip, they are yours for 70.00 ... with that 70, i'll pay for canada post priority overnight shipping since time is short

i end up recouping one ticket in price, you get front row seats delivered to your house for 35/ea

lemme know

I'd try posting this on Billings' Craiglist as well.

I went to Missoula for the Pearl Jam show in September, very cool city although I don't know anything about Billings. I looked on Google images and the venue looks really nice.

I had a recent conversation with my Teacher... Here it is (Billings, MT)

My initial Post
Twilight of the Idols

It has come time for me to meet one of my idols again. Why is it that we make up idols to lead us. I have been inspired and impressed by the clarity I recognize in others, then I swiftly attach this impression onto the person (being) from which it came. I realize God is "all movement" itself. What is presented before me is my interpretation and perception of separate "god-movements" or "God-beings." Yet I cannot get out of this exalted realm of feeling "in the presence" of other, whom I consider, great beings among us.

This Monday evening I will come face to face with one of these great beings I have created; my ideal man. I am tired of my toady self worth in these instances. Why do I keep this infatuation up with these idols? Is it good to strive toward the perfection I see? Do Ishayas look toward Christ or MSI as inspirators? What are, and why do we have, Idols?

Watch them clamber, these swift monkeys! They
clamber over one another and thus drag one another into the mud and the depth.
They all want to get to the throne: that is their madness - as if happiness sat
on the throne. Often, mud sits on the throne - and often the throne also on mud.
Mad they all appear to me, clambering monkeys and overardent. Foul smells their
idol, the cold monster: foul, they smell to me altogether, these
idolators.
Thus Spoke Zarathustra
(1885). Part I, Chapter 11, "On the New Idol"

My Teachers Follow up Post:

This Monday evening I will come face to face with one of these great beings I have created; my ideal man.

I'd be interested in how that goes...

Why do I keep this infatuation up with these idols?

You were initiated into the idea by the school system, your peers and your parents. It's a common issue in the waking state mentality where ego measures the worth and purpose of everything. The idea in and of itself is not a bad one, since some things we identify as expanding and contracting can be useful in making choices to evolve beyond just the three known states of consciousness such as sleeping, dreaming and waking states. Some things we assume, from the authority we give to others, is not so real. Everyone has an opinion and often they are stimulated by beliefs and stress. To set our compass by the beliefs of others is not such a smart way to live.

Is it good to strive toward the perfection I see?

The nature of the universe is to expand. We are no different, however what we measure as perfection might assume a finality where there is nothing beyond what we label as perfection. Consciousness cannot be contained by the human idea of perfection since it resides in all that we assume is perfect and imperfect.
To know ourselves beyond the relative conditioning and self measure of the ego, is to be liberated from the judgments in what is and is not held in perfection at any level of consciousness and by any measure or system derived from a relative state of consciousness.

Do Ishayas look toward Christ or MSI as inspirators?

Depends on what you mean by Ishayas. A truly spiritual and enlightened person respects the lineage and sees no finality in Consciousness as it presents itself thru one who has achieved liberation.
MSI and Christed Jesus never once demanded any respect for the vessel which houses the absolute for it (the body or vessel) is only temporary. What each of them taught was to seek the relationship that consciousness has with the relative by stepping into the absolute and see reality as if thru the eyes of the Ascendant or consciousness.
Many who call them selves Ishaya after having taken vows will still find themselves attracted to the idol/distraction of their worship/attachment outside of the Self until they achieve a conscious unity with all that is and the reflection of that which is the relative world . That however is normal for most, until the ego is put in its place as the servant rather than the master.

What are, and why do we have, Idols?

We are Consciousness/Light/The Ascendant. We are attracted to the relative because we have taken a path as Consciousness in separation. Trained and conditioned to experience separation thru our surroundings set in place by our Self/Soul prior to physical birth.
Idols help create contrast to reality so we have a greater experience of the world as it is created in this setting of waking state collaboration.
In order to understand attachment and illusions of comparison and self measure we create idols to illustrate how it feels to set ourselves against an object that we see as something outside of our Self.
