Thinking about making the trip across the water from Victoria, I've never seen the Hip in Seattle.

I checked the venue's website, and the concert is actually taking place at Showbox SoDo (in the stadium district), and not the original Showbox by Pike's Market as suggested by thehip.com

So excited for this show! I wish it was at the market showbox as it is a smaller venue & has more options for dinner and drinks within walking distance. Regardless, this long time fan will be representing!

Thanks for the heads-up. Just got one. Flying out from Kansas City for this show and Portland. Stoked!

Nice! I'm betting many YVR fans in the house since they are getting shut out for a proper show. Glad you got yours!
And Gord, just in case you do read this, I'm turning 38 in January :)

Man, that was close. Would have sucked to secure the airfare and hotel and then missed out on ticket. Can't wait!

8 days and counting- so glad this show is sold out - the band definitely deserves a Seattle sell-out!

I have never seen a show at the ShowBox SoDo, only the ShowBox on the Market. Love the Market, but I have heard bad things about SoDo: terrible sound system, bad sight lines, weird placement of the bar, overzealous bouncers, etc. Anybody have any first hand experience with the venue? I've got Portland the next night and the Wonder Ballroom is one of my favorites, so I can look forward to that, but I'm hoping all the negative talk about SoDo is more about over critical Seattleites and less about the venue's actual shortcomings.

Rest-less Soul! Rest-less Soul! Glad you're coming down for the show since no proper Vancouver show! What time you planning on getting into town? I'm off from work, so if there's time to hang out pre-show we should!
I've seen 3 shows at this Showbox- '05 tsunami relief show, Chris Cornell and Finger 11. Yes, the sight lines are different than Showbox market, as that floor sinks down a bit. SoDo is more flat, but not terrible IMO. Sound has been great from where I was, usually closer to the front. Bar is in an awkward spot, but didn't matter at the shows I was at, as they were 21+. Not sure how it will be for Friday night. Either way, the Hip will put on an amazing set & the place will be packed! Cannot wait to rock the Showbox! Travel safe everyone!
Peace,
Matt

It'll be interesting to see the Spokane setlist tonight. Shows seem to be getting shorter with more standards and less rarities. I sure hope Seattle and Portland don't let us down.

The Boys always deliver an epic show in Seattle. This is the first time in twenty years I will miss the Hip in Seattle. sucks but I'm on the east coast for at least another year so I'll have to catch them next time around.

Y'all have a great show!
