For Thompson girl

Bernie/Patrick,
hi guys,Im a big fan of the band ,but am emailing about another fan Sarah Raetsen who is travelling to Vegas with 3 of her girlfriends from Toronto for the upcoming show. This is a special show for her as it will be her 50th show. She has seen the boys in Canada,Europe, and, the U.S.She is way to shy to ask,so I am asking for her that she possibly be invited to any after show party,meet/greet.Sarah won one of the facebook prize pkgs and will be picking up her prize at the merch table, this might be the way to reach her.If you could make this happen for her she would be overjoyed! I met her at a show a few years back and have been to many since, where she is always there early and up front.Thx alot guys, see you in guelph, kitchener, toronto, and Oshawa. Vic Colville

The Burger Bar at Mandalay is great and has some nice beers on tap. So jealous of everyone in LV for the show!

Marvelous show, great crowd, great venue and an amazing performance by the boys and crew. Too funny seeing so many hockey jerseys walking around the casino, I think the locals where wondering wtf??? There was a CBC crew dong interviews with people in line waiting to get in so I would expect they will be airing something in the near future. I'm not a big fan of In View but last night they absolutely rocked it! Fiddler's was incredibly moving in light of recent events, not sure but I believe Gord wiped tears at the end of the song. The crowd was awesome and totally into the show beginning to end. Great to meet negphil! Will post more pics later.

Definitely not in order but Transformation, Grace, Drip, Attawapiskat, Fire in the hole, Escape, Springtime, Long time running, Fiddlers, Modern Spirit, Blow, Poets, Lionized! ABAC, Bobcaygeon, Flamenco, and i clearly need more sleep, cause that's all i remember for now!

Fantastic show! Gord D was so animated. Paul even got into it in Fire.

Saw Sinclair walking through the casino before the show. And our "prize"? That black $5.00 Hip bracelet. Still can't believe I am in freakin' Vegas and I saw the Hip!

Fiddler's must have been pretty powerful in light of recent events. Flamenco too.

Long travel day back home yesterday, Left Vegas at 10am and got home at 2am, well worth it though. The line up going into the HOB was peppered with Canadians from across the country, we met folks from Oakville, Burlington, Saskatoon, Burnaby and couple of others I cant remember. We were on the rail right in front of Bobby and found the mix even at that location to be excellent. HOB has top quality lighting and sound as well as a small intimate setting, made for a perfect evening. For those of you that have been to Vegas you know that as long as you are gambling at a table or playing slots drinks are free, all drinks. Needless to say there was much inebriation to be seen so we worried a little for the douchebaggery factor but there was none of it, at least where we were. Girl right beside us got the set list but my pics didn't really come through. We cant go to any of the Canadian dates but this was such an amazing way to leave things until the next time around. I like the large summer and arena shows, but if you ever get a chance to see the Hip in a small venue (I like the south western states) do it.

Set List

At Transformation
Grace, Too
Escape
In View
ABAC
Man Machine Poem
Gems
Gift Shop
Modern Spirit
Poets
Flamenco
Streets Ahead
Bobcaygeon
We Want To Be It
Fully
Fire in the Hole
Goodnight Attiwapiskat

Encore

Blow
Lionized (amazing)
Fiddler's Green
Spingtime
Courage
Little Bones

Great show, long trip but significantly worth it. Lets hope the set list treats continue in 2013....Lionized, are you kidding me?

Fridays happenings were definitely captured in Transformation, Grace Too, and of course Fiddlers Green.

The more that I look back on it, the more that I realize that was a fantastic show. I got stood up by my girlfriends (martinis at the Cosmo were more appealing  ), but I met some great people in line and that set the stage for the night - we had our own little group and looked out for each other. One stranger in the crowd even kept bringing back drinks for us! Crowd was well behaved, Gord was dancing up a storm, and even Paul was breaking out of his shell! I absolutely loved it, and it was a great way to end the tour.

On my way back to Seattle for Christmas after a terrific time in Las Vegas. The only disappointing bit was the Luxor (Suxor) Hotel. Boy that place is a dump. The Hip show was sooo much fun. There was a fair share of drunks but they were harmless enough. Everybody was singing along and having a great time. The band seemed to be having as much fun as the audience. It was nice to meet theBends although it was too brief. Next time I think we should have a Hipbase meet up.

As everyone said, the show was fantastic, venue , sound, crowd, wow! I danced I sang I did it all in Vegas, what a town! I don't think I met any basers, I met one dood the next morning who asked us if we went, he was in the Luxor elevators 7th floor with his girlfriend, I had my new hip hoodie on with white shades , they were at the Washington show as well, nice guy, funny he said this is the largest crowd he's ever seen for them and I was this was my smallest  Canadian and States crowds we thought, forgot to ask him if he was a baser.
