Calgary to have my heart attack
Calgary the place to do it it's a fact
I'm homing in on your broken glow
If you're hurting no one would ever know

It appears this show has been removed from the tour dates page on the Hip's website. Is this show still happening??

So am I the only one going to this show? This may very likely be my last Hip show for a long time, so I'm determined to enjoy myself regardless of the lazy setlist. I just hope Gord's voice is in decent shape. That's all I ask. Also, it's been a long time since I've seen the Arkells, and I'm really looking forward to their set...sadly even more than the Hip.

I will be there with the wife and a couple other friends. Kind of have the same viewpoint as you direwolf, I will be less than impressed if tomorrows set starts with At Transformation followed by Grace, too. Maybe beer will help  . We are in VIP, hoping the weather holds up-I will be a tall guy wearing my brown hip campfire hoodie(courtesy of summiteer :thumb: ) to keep me warm, tap on my shoulder and say hi!

I'll be there. Getting in the mood with Day for Night and the new Arcade Fire single. Despite myself, I'm really excited for this.

Fine show. "Blow" was phenomenal. Like Paul and Gord S. taking verses on "Wheat Kings". Gord D's singing was fine...WHEN HE CHOSE TO SING. I'm of the opinion this screaming fetish is just him being self-consciously weird. He's still got it; he needs to get back to doing it.

Damn good show for the most part, and I agree with the above post. Gord sounded excellent when he actually chose to sing. But when he did his screaming routine on a few songs, it sounded pretty ugly (Man Machine, Courage, and Music at Work were total train wrecks.) I thought the band was spot-on, and I really enjoyed hearing Gord S. and Paul taking solo turns on Wheat Kings. 100th Meridian brought the house down. And what an absolute treat to hear Boots or Hearts. It should be noted that Gord's singing was amazing on that one. Also, it was cool to hear Take Forever. Don`t think that song has been played since the U.S. tour last year. Best song of the night by a country mile was Nautical Disaster. Just an incredible version with Gord actually SINGING, and a killer solo from Robby. It`s those kinds of moments that remind me how brilliant this band can be when they`re on their game.

We got there a bit late, so we missed The Reason. The Arkells were awesome as usual and really got the crowd going. What a fantastic band. Stars were quite enjoyable as well.

All that being said, I think that was definitely my last Hip show for a while. I need a break from these guys. Although I could probably be convinced to see them in the U.S., just because the setlists are so much better.

Didn`t stick this one out-battling a nasty cold and standing in that rain was not happening. As good as it may have been, the only difference between this show and the one I went to in saskatoon a month ago were 2 songs. love is a first & long time running were substituted with take forever & in view tonight. that is lame, but it made me happy that i decided to leave. whats lamer was paying $125 a ticket for a plastic lanyard and the chance to stand an extra 200 ft behind everyone else who paid $65. the poster the "vip`s" got was really cheap as well-there is poster paper and then there is office printer paper, they used the latter. safe to say i will be keeping my $$$ in my wallet when it comes to the Hip for a long time-damn near $1000 going to the last 2 shows(half of that on tickets) and just feel its nowhere close to being worth that

Real good show last night. I have been away from here for a very long time so I didn't know what to expect for the setlist but as far as I am concerned, I am real satisfied with the choices. As has been said earlier, Gords screaming is too much almost all of the time...I just don't get it. Grace Too is always a concert highlight for me but it was one of the low points last night because he just screamed the words. It's such a great song and the screaming just does absolutely nothing for him or the songs he chooses to scream through.

Nautical within NOIS was a real nice treat, are they doing that a lot this tour?

In 29 shows I have never seen Gord S. or Paul take lead vocal on a song so it was super nice to see that happen on Wheat Kings. Is that also a regular thing this tour?

When we first got in I thought we must have somehow been let in to the wrong area (VIP) as we were able to get so close to the stage. After a while though I could see that nobody had the lanyards so this must not have been the VIP area. I can't understand making people pay a lot more money to have to be further back from the stage...I would have been real pissed if I had spent extra. Was my first time seeing a show at Shaw Millennium and I thought it was a real neat venue. Because of the slight incline (making it a small amphitheater) everyone had a good view and the acoustics were real good.

Thought the Arkells killed it as usual...man those guys are tight!

I'll be honest and say I could have done without seeing Stars. Was my first time seeing them and I had high hopes as there has been a lot of good buzz about them. Half of their stuff I thought was real boring and the other half was just ok.

Had a fantastic time last night. Not sure what number that was for me, 24 or 25 I think. I haven't been following the setlists and I know they've been pretty cookie cutter in that regard lately but I really don't care at this point, I'm not following them around or anything, just hitting up hometown shows when they come through.

A lot of the highlights have already been pointed out. Seeing Paul and Gord S take the lead vocals was great. Boots or Hearts was just fucking great as were the standard hits, NOIS, Blow, 100th.... Great time on a soggy cool september Saturday night. No complaints here. :thumb:
