Anyone else excited about this show? My wife and I are driving from Detroit to see our 5th show of this tour. The Hip members are delivering a great album performance and I love the variety of the 10 other songs outside of Fully, Completely. I thought I might be bored seeing Fully performed so many times, but I'm not. The Hip continue to impress.

I swear, Three Pistols was like Polkaroo for me, seemed like I just kept missing it. So thrilled to finally see that one.
Was way in the back for this one but the energy up there was still amazing. Loved this show, seems like it's always such an inspired one when they play London.
Stuck around after outside, got to meet Johnny, Rob, Rob and Paul again. Always such awesome, down to earth guys.
Stoked for Buffalo tonight, first time I've ever done back to back shows.

My review is one week late. Daily life has prevented me from being more prompt, but I'd still like to comment on the show. As many of you know, I am an avid fan like many others on this forum. I have traveled all over North America in the last 20 years seeing The Hip perform about 100 live shows. Most of the shows I have seen have been in small, general admission US venues where I was standing just feet from the stage. I enjoy being able to see the faces of the band members as they perform. I may have seen The Hip play in 5 large Canadian stadiums, but these performances were a while ago and fuzzy in my memory.
The London Budweiser Gardens was sold out to concert capacity. There was not a single seat left unsold as Bernie Breen, The Hip's manager, informed me after the show. I guestimate there were 9,500 Hip fans in attendance. It was so cool to see the whole arena rise to its feet to the opening strains of Grace, Too. To my delight, no one sat down the entire concert. My normal view of a Hip show is very limited being I am usually close to the stage. The small US venues get a limited light show and no video screens. Also, I rarely get to see the crowd reactions to different songs unless I purposely turn around. For the London show I was seated in the arena seats a few rows above the player's bench at the red line on Robbie's side of the stage. I could see all the band members perfectly and I could also see the energy emitting from the fans without barely turning my head.
It was a new experience for me to see a full Hip arena production. In the US, The Hip travel with one tour bus and one tractor-trailer of equipment. At the loading dock of the Budweiser Gardens were four tour busses and five tractor-trailers of equipment. Quite a difference in stage production. I truly enjoyed the giant video screens catching the action on stage while experiencing a large professional light show and stage affects.
The crew capturing the onstage video did a great job in my opinion. I have seen other shows where the video content mostly centers on Gord D. During this show all Hip members were shown equally on screen. It was nice to see Johnnie Fay hitting the skins up close or Gord S. lost in the rhythms of his bass. At times it was a close up of Paul playing his guitar while singing in harmony with Gord. Other times the camera would focus in on Robbie during a guitar solo. The bright spotlight would reflect off the silver cowboy boots he was wearing to make them shine even brighter as his guitar howled its notes. There was still plenty of Gord D singing and dancing happily, looking dapper in black leather pants and black shoes while wearing a white shirt and white cowboy hat. I learned to appreciate the huge contribution Paul and Gord S.'s backing lyrics add to songs on Fully, Completely. They are great singers in their own right.
I know The Hip hold an esteemed position in the collective Canadian spirit, but it was nice for this American to see this reaffirmed in person from a large Canadian contingent of fans. The love of the Canadian fans for this band was one of the things which attracted me to The Hip 20 years ago, along with their moving music.
