Huge venue, and huge stage. We got there early and were first in line for the floors, but it turned into a bit of mayhem getting in. But we still got a spot at the rail in between Gord and Paul. Having Gord Downie towering over you never gets old!
Good life was awesome, as was So Hard. They could've ended it right there and I would have been fine with it.
There was a big fight during Fully. I thought Gord was joking - he started looking out saying "there's a fight, someone's going to get hurt". Then something like "don't be f'ing stupid". He was pissed - I almost thought that was going to be the end of it. But Ricky jumped into the crowd and took care of it. And we all carried on.
One thing I found interesting was that Gord forgot the lines to M@W, a song he's sung a lot. But for rarer songs like Lionized and Wherewithal, he knew all the words and was out in front of the TelePrompTer.
Anyway, it was another great show - fun times hanging out with Wesley and Suzanne, and it was nice to meet Mr. Lahey!

Home after a long drive... thought I'd post some more thoughts.
Fantastic show. Forget about the debate over Gord's voice, the band is on fire. I can't say enough about Rob's guitar last night. Just noticed so much that I haven't before. Always love watching the interplay between Rob & Gord S, but Rob tonight was just amazing.
The sound was fantastic. I had a tough time with the sound at the Danforth show last week (old ears?) but tonight, such clarity. Was great. Instruments were clear, vocals were clear. Paul was surprisingly high in the mix, which was... interesting, at times.
Did notice Gord get lost in the lyrics a couple of times. Yeah, and a fight that Gord tried to break up... "Leopard Print!".
Great show. Had already reached an agreement with my wife about how many shows we were going to on this tour, but after last night's show... ??

Re: 2015-01-17 - Windsor, Ontario
My wife and I attended four Hip shows in five nights. We have done this before on past tours and each time it becomes a little bit harder. The Windsor show was the culmination of the past four concerts. Each one was a little better than the last. Since the Hip members are close to my age, I have a new appreciation for the difficulty of playing twenty shows in a month. The Caesar's Casino website states their venue the Colosseum holds 5000. The Hip have played this venue before with main floor seating. For this show the main floor seats were removed and the area was converted to GA standing. I am estimating there were 6000+ fans in attendance. The main floor area was huge and filled with fans from front to back and side to side with no empty spaces. The risers in the back were filled, too. The entire venue was packed with intense fans singing loudly and dancing about.
As I have said before, it is well worth it to see Fully, Completely performed live. Not much ranting or banter from Gord D during or between songs. He dances around a bit, but only if the spirit moves him. Gord's singing is heart felt and melodious. The rest of the band members are delivering solid, album perfect performances. The band is rotating their most popular hits into the 10 songs played outside of Fully, Completely while mixing in one deep cut from their extensive catalog.
After the show when the venue was still half full of fans filing out the doors, a Caesar's Casino Windsor representative took the stage to announce the casino had just signed a contract for The Hip to return and play the Colosseum again. The rep stated The Hip would return to play Casino Windsor on Friday, July 3, 2015. On sale dates for tickets will be announced later.

Just watching The Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie take off his jacket or sip some water is a show in itself.
The lead singer of one of Canada’s most enduring rock bands is a vintage showman and he didn’t disappoint on Saturday night when The Hip took to the stage at Caesars Windsor’s Colosseum.
Downie made theatre out of every little move, whether it was wiping his face with a white handkerchief, waving it or just sticking it in his pocket. He danced and pantomimed the lyrics to songs for an appreciative audience in the sold out casino venue that seats 5,000.
Even when a brawl broke out in the mosh pit, Downie just calmly yelled more than once “Stop fighting!” and then went back to singing and dancing.
The lead singer seemed to struggle to keep up with the music on a few songs but recovered quickly. Guitarists Paul Langlois and Rob Baker, bassist Gord Sinclair and drummer Johnny Fay were on top of their game for the full hour and 50 minutes.
The Kingston band started the show 10 minutes late with Grace Too as the crowd swayed and sang along. When Downie followed up with New Orleans is Sinking the audience came alive. The two well-known songs set the tone for an energy filled concert.
Many in the audience were over 40 and have been fans of the band since it formed in 1983.
After a handful of songs, a picture of The Hip’s Fully Completely album cover flashed on the two screens on either side of the stage. The band launched into a set of songs from the album that came out 22 years ago and features some of The Hip’s most loved music. It started with Courage, followed by Looking for a Place to Happen and At The Hundredth Meridan. Other notables were Pigeon Camera, Fully Completely and Eldorado.
At the end, the band came back for an encore of six songs and finished with an incredible performance of Blow at High Dough. It seemed everyone in the Colosseum was clapping and singing along, a testament to why The Hip consistently plays sold out venues.
In fact, Windsorsites love The Hip so much all the tickets for Saturday’s concert were snapped up in two days. It has been announced the band will return on July 3 — definitely a show not to be missed.

Just out of curiousity, did they play So Hard Done By slower or the faster like the bonus track version on Fully Completely deluxe edition?
