Well, just arrived back in Buffalo from NY, had a great time. My wife and I
spent all day Friday seeing the sites, then went back to freshen up and
catch a quick rest before the show. We arrived at Irving Plaza around 6:15
sort of expecting a crowd, there was none, in fact if it was for the big
green bus out front, you would never know there was a show there. So we
went next door to enjoy a couple $5 Amstel Lights(not my favorite) at a
place called galaxy. Cool place, we hung out for a while and met a few
Hipsters, we met alot of cool people there, alot of Canadians at the show,
one guy was from Clearwater Fla. a transplant from Burlington. SO I was
hanging out by the front door, watching the scalpers, when Bobby, Johnny and
Gord S. go walking by, I totally missed a photo op, about five minutes later
Paul goes walking by, they were in the bus right in front of the place! By
now a line was forming, so my wife and I wanted to get up front, so we
hopped in line, the doors didn't even open until 8:00, we were about 30th in
line, we got in and skated right to a spot stage left about 3 feet away,
turned out to be a good spot for the show. I ran to the bar to get a couple
beers for us, then proceeded back to guard our spot. Mark Copeley(sic)
opened he didn't go on until around 9, I wasn't real impressed with him, I
liked about 3 of the songs he played. While they were on stage the place
really filled up, our great spot was getting smaller and smaller. Now it
was pushing 10 and people were getting restless, finally the boys take the
stage and have at it. Opened up with Use it up, they sounded great, played
a great set. The crowd was for awesome for the most part, one guy really
tried to get up front during 100th meridian, but he moved on and everything
was cool. The people around us seemed to accept the new stuff, someone
asked me if I was with the band, cause I knew all the words and was writing
down all the songs? Gord was really on, he goofed a little during I think
Wheat Kings, he missed the last verse, the band rocked on, and Gord kind of
just ranted on. After the song ended we heard him turn to Gord S. and Bobby
and said, "I forgot the last verse" Pretty funny I thought, then during
Fifty Mission Cap, he was dancing with his mic, and it crashed to the floor,
Gord scooped it up and proceeded to "scold" it saying, "where are you going,
where are you going, you're nothing without me" Sorry for this epic, but it
was a great show, I saw 2 tapers, hopefully the shows will get out. Here is
