Is it? Issues like this used to be resolved immediately...

Well, the spam is only being posted in the Tapers forum.
And no one likes tapers anyway - those hoarding bastards.

Where have the mods been?
Need new ones?

Good point. And good questions.

Perhaps some of the long-term users should have the ability to delete a spam-type post? You two especially, Dana and Chris. Not necessarily make you mods, that of course would be up to you wanting that responsibility or not, but at the very least allow you guys that much power. You two bring so much to these forums I'm surprised you can't do this already.

That's my vote.

Death is a bit harsh, I like to think of it as summer break . 8)

The truth is I have been out and about all summer on gigs so I have slacked a bit. On the other hand, I have not seen hide nor hair of the other mods in months. :(

I would like to recomend Thip for a battlefield promotion. :thumb:

Haven't been posting to much, but certainly have been reading. If someone once to MOD I'd suggest firing Lance off a PM.

a simple solution is to use captcha when registering.

What's with all the spam lately? And where did the report button go? On some spam posts it's there, but on others (http://hipbase.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 65#p216965) it's missing.

been trying to keep up! if everybody could report spam when they see it, that helps me out a great deal. Don't know why you can't report on some threads though, Chris...

I'll put my name out there if you're looking for some new moderators. Not entirely sure if it surpasses my medium-high level of computer literacy, but if the base is looking, I'll offer.

I'm not here all the time, but usually at least once a day. I'd be happy to help moderate, too.

Lately whenever I stop in at night I spend ten min. deleting Russian porn. However, I have relocated to Washington DC for the next 12 to 24 months. That takes me off the west coast clock so I recommend we add a west coast person as a moderator. Apparently Russian pornographers never sleep.
