New users unable to register

I saw on the Reddit TTH forum that someone wasn't able to register a new account on this forum. Looks like the Captcha needs to be upgraded so it won't let users register. Is it dead?

The Hipbase God is currently working on resolving this issue.

I got locked out on my phone and I can't log back in because of this. Was there a solution found to the Captcha issue?

Solution to the "captcha v1 is dead":
Resend activation email - use latest pw (whatever that was - might be auto-generated if you used "forgot my password")
I've been locked out for months and stumbled across this solution this morning - I wonder how many others got locked out?
