 Well we all had a good time posting back and forth joking around...I personally had a good night doing all of this with everyone even if the quality was not there and if it weren't for this effort and of course the band going there the base would still be quiet and this will keep things buzzing for a bit :thumb:

Can't wait for new album and of course the HIP playing in my backyard in Niagara!

I love the pictures - especially the one of the crowd. It's fantastic how they packed in as many people as possible, and I love looking around the room to see the expressions.
It looks like one woman in the front left corner of the photo might be recording with her ipad, and I'm sure she wasn't the only one trying to capture portions of the event. I will be checking youtube with my fingers crossed....

The point I was trying to make is this current government is carrying on a long tradition of neglect. And I don't believe the the band did this just for the show, I would like to think there is a political statement in doing this gig. Gus, which is actually all about politics was quite fitting as an encore.

It looks like y'all missed the point. The Hip are legends in their own land. There is a lot of power that comes with fame. It seems to me that they were acting as cultural ambassadors. Perhaps the intent was for "us" to interact with a thriving and unique community. Even if the live cast had issues I think it was still a success. It brought people from around the world together to share a collective moment with the people of the Cree Nations.

How cool is that?

Lost Signals!

I agree that is was a very nice connection to our neighbours in Fort Albany - perhaps somewhat fitting that technology was lost in getting us urban dwellers to the troff with the feed. I will leave the politics off the discussion and I am certain that most of us on das hip's board "get it".

From anyone that was in attendance, I am quite curious to hear/read your views on the new tunes? any comparables from the hip's catalogue or any other notable comparisons?

I always believe that The Hip lost the mainstream audience somewhere along the path - perhaps after Phantom Power? and I believe that the "In Between Evolution" will end up being a prophetic title. I also further entertain the notion that The Hip have deepened the connection to us hipbasers by evolving its musical reach and chonicling the world, thru music for us that always "gets it".

With that opined, I hope the next album continues this evolution and there is more expansion on the horizons from James Bay to Lost Signals; for us to come together and dialogue on - I further agree that Lost Signals is a profound album title and maybe the Hip will come full circle and have a self named title as a future release - to anthem the found signal.

Now, let me steeple back to my bong to figure out how to get to NoTL.

Speaking of documentaries, does anybody have any news on whether or not the Bobcaygeon doc will ever see the light of day?

Probably going to combine them onto one huge movie.
