Flying in from Halifax tomorrow - hoping to hear Thugs and Daredevil. Would love to hear Yawning an Snarling again as well.

Used to work in the gov offices near there. Check out Vera's Burgers (inside a place called The Butchery) up the road. The Sukhothai place is supposed to be pretty good if you are into that too. Oh and Big Morts Little Pub for great pizza in a classic dirty dive. Lots of gems in that area (to pluck)

Sounds like Hipbase is going back to the original name: TheBathouse

Most tickets were sold through the venue's box office and not Ticketmaster so they don't seem to be doing credit card entry for them. The box office is open at 10am to pick up "will call" tickets (most floors and good 100 level tickets.)

Don't under estimate Ottawa. 20-25,000 people stood outside in a rain storm at Bluesfest last year to watch them. Seems like lots of people coming from out of town, which will certainly add to the party atmosphere. I know a few people with tickets but more who couldn't get any.

I've seem The Hip in Ottawa 15ish times and it can be hit or miss in terms of crowd craziness. But, seems to be a different vibe in the city the past few years. Redbacks are back and that is a crazy ass party when they play home games - they lead the league in concession (beer) sales. Lots of big shows past couple of years that sell out, including Pearl Jam and AC/DC.

I am in section 117, row 3, so pretty good.

As others have said, take the bus to the arena.

Oh, and the Mayor proclaimed August 18th The Tragically Hip day....so there's that.
