Kind of off topic, but isn't there such thing as Lossless mp3's? I think my old Windows Media Player could rip mp3's, and each file was about 30mb.

Alright. I will torrent that one then.
Thanks CK.

MP3's use a compression algorithm that is "lossy." This means that there is always going to be some file degregation. You have have high bite rate MP3's that sound good, but much like JPEG's, every time you open and close them, there is a loss of information.
Some of the recent MP3 writers have gotten significantly better but as far as I know, it is still built on "lossy" technology.

Any FLACS for downloading? Or are we going back to the mp3's? Or should I just keep my eye on the tracker? Or should I just download the mp3's? Please, tell me what to do, I'm incapable of free though or making a decision by myself.

I'm pretty sure that I've got this show on CD from a FLAC source. Add it to the requests page on the tracker and I'll get to it soon.

Rory, would you happen to have The Music Hall, Portsmouth, New Hampshire August 23rd, 1996? You have it labelled as collectors only, but I would still like to hear it!
And thanks a tonne for these great shows. I remember the first time I saw your site... my jaw dropped, and stayed dropped for at least three hours.

I discovered that there is an issue with permissions on the site, and someone has deleted a bunch of the shows. As a result, the site is offline until I get the situation rectified.

So the site it back online as a web serving site only. Visit
www.thehundredthmeridian.com/files and get downloading.
I'll keep working on a new FTP solution, but please do not hold your breath, nor question when it will be ready. A lot of shows will be added to this setup in the coming days, and all shows will be zipped for faster/easier downloading.
Enjoy!

Yes! You have a show that lost all its seeds on the tracker that I've been anting for a while (Walkerton, to be exact) and the download speed is insane! Also, I'm glad you adopted the ZIP idea. I was talking about it with another Baser (don't remember who) and I'm glad it came through. The site's never been better. Thanks for taking over, Chris!
EDIT: Oh, this is MP3. At least it'll tide me over until a FLAC copy is uploaded or reseeded. Still, I'm really surprised at the speed. The old Meridian was slow as hell.

so, in the hip rarities collection, is the first version of grace only significant because he sings "he said im tragically hip"? or is it like one of the first performances? because otherwise, it is a somewhat average and cut to hell (cuts out during the second verse) version
