Hello to all the newcomers. I haven't been around for a bit, so it's great to see so many new names. I love the Messier avatar... I was recently told I was "Messier bald so it's okay."

Hey, just found The Hipbase for the first time yet I've been a fan of the Hip since '96.
I'm from over in the UK (Peterborough to be exact) and I work for a TV channel producing/directing promos, which is mostly good fun.
I first found out about The Hip from the soundtrack to Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy, with the inclusion of Butts Wigglin. I then went out and bought Trouble at the Hen House and Fully Completely the next day, and haven't looked back.
I have all the albums (all are first releases and so miss the CD rom content) as well as a few vinyl records and CD singles, plus Heksenketel VHS and the Hipeponymous box set (gosh don't I sound a show off... I'm not, honest)
I've only seen them twice so far - both times in London, and I'm about to purchase tickets for the next London date in July.
But they're still my favourite band, nothing has detracted me from that point of view since I first started buying thier CDs and I doubt it ever will.
See you all in July - London 2006

Cheers
Just realised I didn't put my name - Doh!
I'm Matt, just turned 35 a couple of weeks back, and yes I will be sticking around and checking the boards out on a regular basis.
But shame on the UK for only having a few members on here, C'mon UK lets have a few more shout outs...

Hello all!
What a fantastic site this is!
I'm Kelly. I'm 18 and I'm from the States (specifically Maryland, but currently in Delaware for university. i'm a science major.)
I think the first time I heard the Hip was when I went to Canada over spring break in 8th grade and I didn't really really get into them until about 3 years ago (i had no idea what i was missing!). The first two songs I heard were "New Orleans is Sinking" and "Ahead By a Century" and i was hooked.
I saw them, oddly enough, in Maryland when they played the Recher Theater in October 2004.

Welcome, Sss.
I can't think of any names off the top of my head, but I do believe there are some other islanders here at the base. Again, welcome.
