It also seems like a label cash grab, especially given some of the comments the boys have made in past years regarding greatest hits compilations.
If there's a tour, I'll support it, but count me out of the retail.
If this was nothing more than a greatest hits compilation, I'd totally agree with you. But I get the impression that the band, their management, and the label worked together to make sure there was plenty of extra stuff thrown in for the hardcore fans. Yes I already own all the hits, but that's not why I'm buying it. I'm forking over my cash strictly for the two new songs, the fully mixed & mastered live concert DVD (a first for the band), the 48 page book, the 23 videos, the 50-minute "Macroscopic" film (whatever that is), and the 11 new video pieces. This is all stuff that I don't have, and as an obsessive collector I'm looking forward to finding out what all the extra bells and whistles are. Hell, I'd pay $48 just for the book and the live DVD.
Only 26 more sleeps!!!
: totally agree with you 100% D.W. , As a hardcore collector myself, this set is what I've been waiting for for many a moon!! This set is Diamond in the crown of my collection
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!
If that happens to be the final product. These things must be in production by now, so someone has to know what it looks like. Maybe its the real deal.
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

yes, but those two items do not constitute the entire package.
you don't get the book, the bonus dvd with videos or the new video set.
even mymusic has them separate like that, with prices of $13.95 for
"that night in toronto", and $14.98 for yer favorites.

I noticed an ad in the Calgary Sun today that had the release date listed as Nov. 8th. Did Universal push it back a week?? It was a pretty small blurb, so I'm thinking chances are good that it was a miss-print. I really don't wanna have to wait an extra week for this thing. I'm gettin way too antsy as it is.
