Hey everyone!
My name is Eric and I'm from Waterloo region in Ontario. I'm 20 and right now am a student at Wilfrid Laurier University. About a year ago my brother in law introduced me to the Hip and I have now become obsessed with them! After hearing Day for Night that faitful night last year I went out and bought Up to here and Fully Completely. A couple months later and I had all of their albums

So I'm a fairly new hip fan but this is a lifelong relationship, I can feel it.
I can't wait to start talking to all you guys!
Greets,
Eric

Hi,
First post, not to good with the english language so don't shoot for the many f**k ups
From the netherlands, introduced to the hip with Up to here in 1991 or so. It really kicked in when i saw them live at a festival near Amsterdam called 'Halfway' in (i think) 1993 (i guess Fully Completely had just been released, because i remember they played 'pigeon camera' en 'locked inside the trunk of a car')
Love music, not only the hip but to name a view; Neil Young, Dylan, Clash, The Band, Big Star, Bonnie Prince Billy, Pedro the Lion, Wilco, Postal Service, Sonic Youth etc etc
Best Hip album: Day for night
Best song old: uhm....emperor penquin (for today)
Best song new: Last night i dreamed....

Hi! My name is Kara, and I'm a fairly new Hip fan from the Detroit-area of Michigan.
I got into the Hip partially from watching a ton of Canadian cinema, and in particular the movie Men With Brooms (thank you, Paul Gross!). I really liked Poets, but I never looked into getting any Hip albums until a local station (93.9 The River) started playing In View. I became addicted to the song and got myself a copy of World Container. I have been in love ever since.
I was able to go to the State Theater show on the 12th, it was awesome and I know I'm going to be a fan for life.

Hey all,
Long time fan; first introduced to the band from friends in Winterpeg while spending my University years in North Dakota. 15 Concerts and counting (2 this weekend - Atlantic City/Philadelphia). My family would say I'm obsessed but hey, the music makes me feel good! I've even taken my 5 year old daughter to the FYE show.
Look forward to finally having time to talk to others on this forum.

Been here for a few years just to check up on the news about my fave band. Thought I'd better introduce myself finally. I'm Jon from Philly. My wife and I have been hip fans since '95 and have been to 8 shows. One of our best memories was "The Last Bash in Barrie". For US fans used to seeing das Hip in clubs, it was quite a change. See some of you in AC this weekend.

Which turned out
not to be the "Last Bash in Barrie" as there were a couple of big shows played there since that concert (including Live8).
Welcome!

Im Wesley from Cambridge Ont. Been a hip fan since way back to 89. Never saw them live till 93. ( best concert of my life ) I have all the Hip CDs plus a few records from back in the day. I still have my Another Roadside Attraction Tshirt from the 93 concert and still wear it on occasion. I bought all the enhanced CDs with the videos on them which no longer work ( wah wah) Then I managed to get the box set with all the videos in it also. (yes yes) I also was lucky enough to purchase it thru Maple Music and got an autographed postcard ( 1st 1000 only) I love the energy of the Hip. No other band seems to push my foot harder on the gas pedal when im driving down the highway as much as The Hip do.
My fav song has to be Locked in the trunk of a car. Followed by Escape is at hand for the travelling man. Although there are close to 150 songs in 3rd place. hehe I never skip songs when playing Hip CDs . I have about 5 fav playlists on my media player that are all hip songs. Just basically in different order.
Fav live song for me so far has been Eldorado and Well go too.
The Tragically Hip have been so great to listen to for the last 20 years that I cant imagine any other band doing this for me.
I loved it at Fort York when my 6 year old sitting on my shoulders yelled down to me " I know this song" after about 5 seconds of " Dont wake Daddy" came on.
Thats all for now. Its a big read.
You will be seeing me around . I have always lurked here just never registered.
