I had a thought the other evening...

There are several places on the interwebs that have album listening clubs, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a monthly or bi-weekly Bootleg club?

In my mind, it would work like this:

Hipbasers who would like to participate get added to the club, and we randomly draw from the participants who gets to pick a show this week/month/whatever time frame we select. We get the choice available to download for participants, and then we have an ongoing discussion thread about the particular show.

I have been rediscovering Hip recordings these past few weeks, and I know there are probably some Basers out there who love listening to a show here and there instead of the studio recordings. I think it would be a great way to dive into some Hipstory, all while checking out recordings that may have flown past our radar over the years.

Would anyone else here be interested?

I'd be in for that -- I think I end up listening to hip shows more than proper releases, and I'm always discovering either new shows or references in the ad libs that became songs later.

I'm going to get this started soon, so I'll throw a deadline up. If you want to be in the first random draw, sign up by Friday. I guess we can shoot for every two weeks to have a new show, and we'll see how that goes. I'll post more details soon.
