HipTracker requests

Since there seems to be an ever growing number of people adding shows to the tracker I thought maybe we could each pick out one or two shows that we'd like to see on the tracker, and why. Of course, beggars can't be choosers and I'll gladly take whatever shows are put up, but for you seeders out there that plan on releasing shows but are not sure which ones, maybe others can give some suggestions.

My two choices are; Pine Knob 7-31-99, this was my first Hip show, I'd heard Fireworks on the radio and bought PP, thought they were a new group and was blown away by the show. ACC 12-31-99, second Hip show, by this time I had bought LBU, Road Apples, and Henhouse and really starting to get into them. Purchased tickets to the show at a Ticketmaster in Port Huron, MI and amazingly snagged front row center floor! Believe it or not, it was amazing.

Well, thanks for reading and thanks to all who have made trading so efficient.

I would love to see 1993-07-24 Markham, ON, from the Another Roadside Attraction festival. I have seen this in a couple of people's lists of shows they have, but have been unable to connect with them for a b&p. I was at this show, and would love to hear it again.....

They are avaialable at The Hundredth Meridian but I think they're both in MP3 format and with a dial-up, even MP3s may take some time to DL. Then there's the quality issue (what did we ever do before lossless compression?).

Also, I believe the Pine knob show isn't a complete show; several tracks are missing, unless I'm confusing it with another 'Knob show. I'll have to search for it (so don't anyone hold their breath), but I think I have that show on cassette. If I do, I'll see if I can get it onto my hard-drive and convert it. If it doesn't come out good, I won't bother putting it up on the Hipfans tracker.

Now for the good part...I do have a first generation copy (CD) from the original distribution of the ACC NYE '99 show (12-31-99) for which I will create a torrent and upload...soon. My problem is that I've been downoading and seeding so many shows (and due South episodes) that I can't burn them quick enough to free up HD space.

I'm installing another 160 GB HD this weekend and that will solve the space issue...for now. :)

Time constraints will still exist, but I will make the NYE '99 show a priority and get it up by the weekend.

Oh, and this thread is a great idea, I just hope everyone else inclined to request specific shows does so with the same level of understanding and appreciation that stanslow12 exhibited when he started it. I'm not a taper...I've never tried to record a show...but based on the amount of time and attention it takes me to download and seed shows, make the few torrents I have, and attempt to author a DVD out of MPEG files, I fully understand why some of our devoted tapers and DVD authors would get frustrated if they felt their efforts and generosity were being taken for granted.

Let's all continue to show our appreciation of the hard work and long hours that go into each of these recordings that we are able to "grab" by clicking our mouse buttons and walking away.

Is that the Markham show with Get Back Again? I'm trying to access the list from Rory's old site, but my browser keeps closing when I click the link (me to my computer: yer possessed)

That is the show...what a closer. I remember being extrememly sun-burned on the bus ride home, but the entire walk to the bus, I kept trying to remember how that last (unheard) song went. It was such a great song, and I remember kicking myself for not recording the show....of course I'd forgotten the chorus by the time we boarded the shuttle busses. That was 1993, and I probably downloaded the song from AudioGalaxy (remember that one?) about 7-8 years later when I got my own computer. Only a week ago, while checking out Rory's tape lists, did I put 2+2 together (5?) and realized that was the closing song...Amazing.

Thanks for offering this one up on the tracker, you've really made my day! :thumb:

While we're requesting, if anyone can put up the FULL Road Apples demos, complete with the full studio versions of Get Back Again, Ouch, and Times Are Passing Us By, I would be forever in the debt. Don't want to put anyone off, but that would be my request for the tracker, if someone has the time.

Thanks Rory for putting up the ARA show.

Cheers

I am mostly interested in quality sounding recordings...whether they are SBD or excellent aud. recordings doesn't matter to me.

Ok, I thought of one. I was at the Aspen 1998 (Buttermilk Mountain) show and I got a copy from someone a while ago. The only problem is that either the rythem or maybe lead guitar is not recorded well. Whichever it is, it makes the show sound real strange. At first I couldn't put my finger on it but it became obvious that one of the guitars is not present, or extremely low.

If someone has this show with the complete guitar on it, I'd be very grateful.

Here's one I'd like....if anyone has a lossless copy of the stockholm Sweden 1994 show from Gino's (boot titled "freaked in sweden" I believe), that'd be killer. Great sound, and my alltime fave NOIS (with the "if you're freaked, I'm fucked" rant...) Thanks...

I would love to see the Edenfest show posted on the tracker. It was a great show but its one of those that is tough to find. This was my 1st time seeing the Hip and Rory was good enough to do my first B&P years ago for it. Unfortunatly the tape hasnt aged well... Also the only time I have heard Sherpa ...favorite song here... live.
