Looks like easytree.org has been busy with Hip fans. Mike (Scooby) has uploaded 2 different shows, and a compililation over there. I pm'd him there, and he says hello to everyone. He's been busy with work, but will get the Ottawa DVD pt. 2 up soon....

Here's what's currently seeded on easytree:

1993-07-26 (ARA, Ottawa, ON) - FM Broadcast
http://www.easytree.org/torrents-details.php?id=35817

TTH Rarities Compilation
http://www.easytree.org/torrents-details.php?id=35793

1985-11-09 (Copper Penny Restaurant, Kingston, ON)
http://www.easytree.org/torrents-details.php?id=35615

Not Scooby, but a nice upgrade from mp3
1998-07-30 (Plant Studios, Sausalito, CA) - FM
http://www.easytree.org/torrents-details.php?id=35477

None of these are my posts/shows, just passing on the links... :thumb:

I've heard on a daily or weekly basis, users who are not active, or are serious leechers are dumped from easytree, freeing up space for new accounts. I'd suggest trying again from time to time and see if you can get signed up.

Otherwise perhaps someone who has downloaded these shows could post them on the hiptracker.

Yeah I agree, try, try and try again. I kept on checking back from time to time and one day there was a spot for me.
In addition to the Hip shows mentioned there is also two Big Sugar shows. The New York one is better quality.

Wow!

I wonder what the lawyers issue was with them...?

http://www.easytree.org/
Hello gals and guys,

We're very sorry having to tell you that we had to shut down EZT forever just a couple of minutes ago.

We got a call from our provider, they had received a few letters from a couple of lawyers. They requested EZT to be shut down immediately, otherwise we and the hosting service would be sued.

As you may imagine, we do not have the funds to fight a battle we most probably can't win anyway.

We would like to thank everyone here for their contributions to EZT, one way or the other, for sharing the music, sharing an ideal, for all your mails, rants, praises...

To say it with Joan Armatrading:

We had fun, fun, fun, fun
fun, fun, fun, fun
we had fun -- while it lasted...
--"Tall in the Saddle"--

You all take good care!

The EZT team

That :censored sucks!! For everything non-Hip easytree ruled for live music. I was looking forward to someone taping the New Order shows when they start touring later this month. Oh well, like they said it was fun while it lasted.

i'm guessing that they were sharing material by non-taper friendly bands

That's my guess as well, but why not just remove the offending material and ban the users that posted it? They are running a much improved version of the same software I have on our tracker, and it's quite easy to do.

i'm not sure that that was a problem. the mods on there were quite good about deleting torrents that contained copyrighted material (publibly available stuff anyway)

i think a possible reason for it going down was that an increasing number of slimy weasels got themselves eztree accounts, and started selling the boots on ebay. as often as this was happening in the past, it exploded in the last week with the u2 shows.
i'm sure that this rubber a lot of people the wrong way.

That's shitty. Last night I downloaded a SBD Tea Party show and I planned to find a bunch of other goodies tonight.

I'm quite bummed re: the demise of easytree. I've collected quite a few nuggets from there in the last year. I also have seen some copywrited material from time to time posted over there.
