Hey folks...
Everything is edited and ready to be burned, but I have 13 GB in total. I would like to fit it onto a 4.7 GB disc, ideally, but if I have to, an 8.5 GB disc. How do I compress everything to fit, but at the same time not losing any quality? Any ideas? Chris Chris??

Hey Rory,
Brandy mentioned a program to me called DVD shrink. I don't know much about the program but will it shrink the size to fit to a dual layer dvd?
It sounds like you've tried to put Sam, all extra features, pictures and hip all on one dvd. HARDCORE!!

I think you will be hard pressed to fit so much onto one dvd. You might have to split it up into 2 dvds.

DVD Shrink should work - it is pretty easy to use.
It looks at the entire video and compresses it to fit on one single layer DVD.
I have run into problems trying to compress music DVD's - the 5.1 sound sometimes cannot be compressed - otherwise - works like a charm. You still need a program such as Nero to burn with though.

I do have DVD shrink, a pro at it, but does it read just regular .avi files? The video files are not in .vob or .ifo format, and therefore, DVD shrink doesn't recognize them,...

What DVD creation software are you using to encode the video to the DVD? The videos that I've edited are usually about 40Gb and iDVD crunches them down to fit on a 4.7Gb disc. Perhaps I'm not understanding you...
