Re: 2016-08-03 - Calgary, Alberta
This will be my 4th show in a row, 24th overall and last Hip show of the tour and possibly forever. It has always been fun going to these shows and scheduling holidays around them. My Grandma Really pushed this band on us because they were from Kingston and felt we needed that Kingston connection after mom and dad moved us out west from Kingston. Needless to say after hearing the EP Grandma didn't need to push too hard I was a pre-teen and my favorite bands were Kiss and Def Leppard. No offence to either band but before I was able to see the hip live they became my favorite...after hearing them live they became my passion. I couldn't believe how this band would play a totally different song in the middle of NOIS or 100th...then these songs/rants would turn into songs on the next album.
Anyway I don' need to explain how I fell in love with 5 guys from Kingston to all of you but I wanted to share my 3 most memorable moments over the years (not in order)
1 First concert was ARA where John popper came out and played harmonica on Fight!!!! This was epic and I became a Blues Traveller fan afterwards.
2 Being at the show where Fiddler's Green was played for the first time, I don't know how I made it through the rest of the show I was in so much shock as History was being made in front of 1,000 people
3 The 2 Vegas shows I attended...maybe because it was with family (the last one with my 2 brothers and our wives), maybe it was the connection with the band being so close or maybe it was the other 1,000 Canadians that we made friends with but these will always be special.
Tonight I am just going to enjoy and I have wanted to hear Emperor Penguin one last time, but tonight they can play row your boat and I will be happy!!!

I was there Monday but couldn't stick around for tonight's show. Instead, I bought a pair of tickets to Toronto 1 having vowed just to do nights two and three; I'm in wedding-saving mode, but our future children would much rather their parents saw another Hip show than, like, bought a centrepiece or something. RIGHT?

Looks like the scopes are caving in again. Has to be the venue.

It has to be the worst wi-fi of any venue In North America. Maybe Trump built a wall and it's keeping wifi out?
