Hello Everyone,
I have every show from Gord's tour this past year and have decided that I will start uploading all his shows as I have time to the 100th meridian ftp site. I will upload them in chronological order starting with the Dundas Square show dated June 5th, 2003.
Check back frequently as I upload more shows. If you have a request for a certain show that you might have been at, let me know and I'll upload it asap. PM me if you're interested.
Jamie

No Doubt! Super Cool of you Man
Thanx

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

if it says "invaild password" that means all the slots are full. Try the site late at night and early in morning.

Although I do like the sharing aspect, I do not agree with putting these commercially available files on an open FTP server.
It clearly states the following in the Maplemusic Digital Download FAQ:
Q: What prevents me from sharing the songs with others?
A: Nothing. However, we ask you do not distribute copies to others, or make the songs available on file-sharing networks.
Personally I think its acceptable to trade the shows (one for one) but to have a free for all download site is wrong. That's money right out of Gord's pocket. It could definitely jeopardize future live Hip/Gord releases or even take the privilege of taping Hip/Gord shows. What's the point of Maplemusic even having these shows on there site for people to buy. It would a different story if all these shows were different recordings (ie audience).
Its important for us as a group to protect the interests of our favourite musicians.
This obviously should also apply all commercial releases no matter how rare they are (ie Land single, Black Day In July, etc.)
This is obviously a sticky area since we all want all Gord/Hip shows. We just need to make sure we're not breaking any rules.
FYI: I actually purchased five of the shows from Maplemusic and traded for the rest directly through Jaime. I actually attended most of Gord's tour.
Just my thoughts.

Damn that conscience of mine...
Thanks for having the guts to post that, Mark...I have to admit, I've declined to pull down any of Gord's solo shows from THM for that very reason (I bought the two T.O. shows (Lee's and Dundas) from Maplemusic directly)...
Are we the only ones who are a little concerned this sort of sharing of what is technically "released material" might cause the band to scuttle any possible plans to release similar band boots of any upcoming tours (ie. if this was a trial run for something bigger)????
I suppose what it comes down to is how you view these boots; are they "bootlegs" in the truest sense of the word (and as such, open season), or are they more or less on the same level as LBU, which, last time I checked isn't currently available on THM???...

out of curiousity, how much do the boots from Maplemusic cost? The downloading issue is complex for me for two reasons. One, I think the music industry overcharges for cd's and in most cases, the bands doesnt see alot of money from cd sales due to the practices in the music industry, (ie advances, small royalities, charging bands with promotion costs, etc) and its really easy to find eclectic music on Kazaa etc that the mass commercial market ignores. That being said, i feel guilty about downloading music from the bands i really like and generally what i do is download some songs for the computer, find out i really like the band and go out and buy the cd for personal use. Maybe in exchange forbeing able to download from THM, a small charge designated for the costs of supporting the ftp site could be enacted? Like 2-4 dollars per show? just my two cents

The MapleMusic recordings are $10, which is a lot considering they don't cost a thing to ship. The bandwidth would really be the only cost, and I'm sure the company Maple Music belongs to can easily absorb that cost. I think $5 per show MAX would have been good...it's just extra easy money.
